This is an update. As an executive chef who has trained in Asia... Japan, Korea, inland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan... I know what the flavor profile should be.
When they first opened the flavors were spot on for Korean food, and the portions especially the side dishes were much bigger.
The side dishes which normally accompany a Korean main dish were absurdly smal... :0/
Example one side dish had one small leafe cooked in sesame oil, we had to reorder this 3 times, and each time one leaf. This got so rediculous we stopped ordering it.
The Daikon side dish had 3 very thin slices of seasoned Daikon. :0/
The Kim chi was just as bad skimpy one or two bites and felt like it had been washed under water, no real flavor. :0(
The flavors have been adjusted for the Mexican palette. No real spice like in Korea or even what you can get in Juriquilla.
There was no brightness in flavor in any of the dishes.
The soft Tofu soup had small pieces of medium firm Tofu completely wrong for this dish. Should be large silken silken tofu.
And the base was more of a miso base rather than korean chili.
I took that one home to fix in my kitchen, BUT they packed it so poorly the soup spilled and the bottom of our paper bag was soaked. They used no plastic wrap to secure the soup just a loose fitting Styrofoam lid! PALM TO FACE... We would never do that in my restaurants.
The decore is nice but the music is too loud, and is all over the place, one song upbeat, then an old style romance song, then hip hop.. Yes hip hop in a Korean restaurant, then jazzy, then 80s, then ragaton... And all too loud!!!
The place was mostly empty, the server forgot my drink, then the extra sides then, then the extra rice.
In this place you have to order the rice separate, steamed rice, thsts like having to order the tortillas sperate for a Mexican meal, in real Asian restaurants rice comes with the main dishes...PERIOD Having to order rice for an extra price is so cheap.
To the owners, your service needs work, They were often distracted and chatting to other staff members and not paying attention.
as I stated the place was mostly empty. 3 to 4 tables occupied by two customers each. 6 to 8 people total in all of your restaurant!
the masks and no longer required and makes it difficult to understand your staff...
Your staff informed me that you make them wear the masks, that is illegal and I will be reporting this to the authorities. STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO WEAR A MASK IF THEY DON'T WANT TO... This is NOT Korea this is Mexico, it is voluntary...
You really need to reconsider the portion of the side dishes.
You really need to get your Cooks to have the correct spices and flavors like in...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the food and the experience. For entrance, we ordered the Korean pancake which was my favorite, it was creamy, toasty and delicious. the spicy shrimp and salmon sushi were also a great way to start off. We also tried the friend bbq chicken, it was top notch. We grilled the steak marinated in traditional corean sauce, the meat was soft, perfectly seasoned and you could combine it with the authentic sides. I have to say everything was delicious with unique flavors. I will definitely come back
The service at first was a little slow due to busy hours, but they were all attentive. The only downsides for me were the mocktails, nothing especial and overpriced.
