The ONLY reason I'd go back is the fish I ordered for lunch! It was quite delicious, so kudos to the chef. Otherwise, the staff is NOT honest. I was blamed for not asking for my receipt, and when I asked for it, I was told they had thrown it out. You'll notice they have signs everywhere (bathroom & payment kiosk) saying if the server doesn't provide a receipt that your order is FREE!! That didn't happen! He knew he messed up, so he tried to offer us a drink as we're leaving the restaurant. We were on a scooter!! How were we supposed to hold drinks!?? Seriously!!?? Anyway, nowhere on the website does it say you need to pay $20 USD to access their establishment. In fact, a local taxi driver recommended this place over San Francisco Beach Club next door, who is known to charge as they have a pool and beach access too. I wish we had paid the fee there instead.

The drinks are overpriced ($24 for two mocktails). The chicken burger was greasy. The guacamole was good. The fish was great!

The beach is grainy, but at least not super rocky like some others.

The service was below par.

The space was ok, but the dirty tables/beach chairs aren't cleaned in a timely manner.

The music and vibe were decent. Felt like I was in Jamaica and not México but that's fine.

I hope my comments help them improve their overall service.

It wasn't busy so it was better for us.

I likely won't go...

We've been to Carlos and Charlie's a couple times in the past and it was good and fun. Which is why we wanted to return. I must say, their experience has changed alot!! Taxi ride to and from $20 each way (more expensive). You have to pay $20 for the BASIC service package (never had a service package before) which gets you a local mixed drink that comes in a small plastic cup and to sit at their beach?! They didn't let us just sit, eat, and drink. No food offered unless you buy a higher package . No other drinks offered like a Mexican or domestic beer unless you buy a higher package. Service was scarce and had to flag someone down. We spoke Spanish and could communicate very well but they didn't seem to want to promote their place unless we paid more. RIDICULOUSLY DISAPPOINTED!! To leave, we told them we wanted to go to Señor Frogs and instead of taking us back to the cruise port, they charged is more and took us to the other location closer to downtown.

I won't be coming back and will definitely consider an all-inclusive beach resort with what Carlos and Charlie's was trying to...

There was a sense of humor all about this place! It was very homey in a we want you to feel comfortable way. There were the regular trying to sell us the same stuff we had already seen near the port. This may be normal since we were tourists. It was annoying when she cme thru for the eighth time, each time she had something different...The food was great portions and delicious. Speaking with the staff was touch and go, but our waiter understood so there weren't any problems. He was very attentive and they were all pleasantly nice! There was something there for everybody. You could get henna, a massage, rent water riding equip, play volleyball, eat at the restaurant, enjoy adults drinks, shop the gift shop, lounge on beach or go for a swim! It was kinda secluded and about 15 mins from the port, but it was great! I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever in Cozemel again!
