The female host Emely or Emeli is super mean with a horrible attitude. I am appalled at how rude she is. I was trying to do a walk in when they opened at 5:30pm so we were the first ones waiting to ask if they have availability. She advised they are fully booked and we can hang around “if we want.” I asked her what if she has no shows? She said no, there will be no no-shows. Their first seating is absolutely full. Can she predict the future?? How can she be so sure of that statement? It was very frustrating and her tone was very condescending when telling us to return later.
Also the front section of the restaurant is extremely cold. When we did finally get seated, we expressed the air conditioning in our table area was very cold. Their resolution is yellow beach towels as makeshift blankets to use during dinner. Every table near our section, you will see most guests wrapped in yellow beach towels which is such an eyesore.
Last but not least, this restaurant doesn’t allow you to pack leftovers to go? Even though every restaurant from their higher end sister hotel Garza Blanca does. I am okay with this policy but after 10 minutes of our server telling us no, we noticed another table walking away with takeout boxes. If you are going to enforce a policy, why only to certain tables and not the others?
The food is decent for a Mexico resort but with all the headaches and hassle, definitely not worth it and not something I want to deal with...

When we got our table Carlos, our server, walked us through the menu and was so welcoming. We took his recommendations for both appetizers and entrees and it was one of the best meals of my life. The mussels and raw beef to start followed by tortellini and lamb. Hearing that we were celebrating our engagement Carlos brought over this stunning dessert of ice cream, brownies and fresh fruit that he doused with flaming liquor. The manager Ricardo made us feel like Davino could be one of our places that we always return to when we want to celebrate us. I have to add that the restaurant was very busy and the hostess Sheyla was efficient, pleasant and even helped make sure we got a reservation again before we left. Andy the hostess, greets us with the energy of an old friend, and right from the start we have exceptional service and attention. We’ve had 2 servers throughout coming nearly every day, Adrian and Angel. If you’re able to come to this restaurant, I highly recommend asking for Adrian or Angel as your server because their service and care is unsurpassed.
