Bocados Steak House — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

I was going to rate 1 star. However, the manager Rosaria made all the difference. The staff and the customers are lucky that she is the manager. She is kind hearted and quick to understand the situation. For some reason we were not given our food, and our server “Juan” just stood there as we saw our food just get cold in the waiting area. After we originally ordered, I wanted to look at the name of a dish, so We asked for the menu again - “three” times (got up once to ask because Juan would never come by to check on us or deliver the menu, and he told me to go sit down because he will bring it) and he would say “yes” and just stare at me from far away without ever giving us the menu. In the end we called another server and he brought us the menu right away. Perhaps Juan is not able to communicate English very well and misunderstood something? Either way, just the way Juan treated us (or not at all attend to us) it felt very uncomfortable, and both my wife and I felt like Juan was not giving us the food on purpose, for some strange and unknown reason.

Rosaria somehow noticed that something was off and immediately began to attend to us personally and made all the difference. She is friendly but at the same time is strict to discipline her employees. She seems to win the respect of other staff around her, as she is kind but firm, and really cares about the restaurant. I hope the upper management sees this review all for the sake of how wonderful Rosaria is. Food was great also (And all food we ordered came out immediately as soon as Rosaria came...

If I could give zero stars I would. Our reservation was for 9:30pm since all the earlier time slots were not available. I was surprised when I arrived since there was hardly anyone there. Our waiter Hector was not friendly and kept trying to upsell us on things that were off the all inclusive menu. After placing our order the plates came out at different times and they got my daughter's order wrong. When she finally received her appetizer the main course came out and she never ate her appetizer. This restaurant is known for their steaks but I have had better steaks at Longhorn. The cuts were fatty and flavorless. I ordered corn as a side and it was literally rotten and hard. My younger daughter ordered a baked potato and ot was drenched with sour cream. When we asked for more drinks, it took forever to get them and the waiter just seemed annoyed at us. It was my daughter's birthday so they came out with a cheese cake and candle. That was probably the only good part of the meal. Then when we asked for our desserts and coffee our waiter said the kitchen was closed. So we had no dessert or coffee. The bill came and it was $800+. We are from NY and that was not an $800 meal. I am very disappointed and hope this review gets to the chef and management so that they can take some action to make this a better experience for their patrons including those with all inclusive. Our reservation at this restaurant was very disappointing, and the worst experience we had throughout or stay.

It is very clear that the social media “influencers” that seem to give 5* reviews for everything at Garza Blanca have a different take on things. if you have a family or kids you WILL be treated differently.

My wife can speak fluent Spanish, but she keeps this quiet and does not show it, and the staff complained and spoke about the guests constantly behind there back. In our visit we were polite, well mannered, left a generous tip. Despite this staff complained, directly at our table in Spanish, that our children were “special kids they were hard work”. To be very clear we weren’t given a desert menu, and my 7 YEAR OLD asked for a “fruity ice cream” he wasn’t being difficult.

Maybe it was an off night for the service staff, we don’t know. I complained to the receptionist and they were not interested, not even an apology. But I wasn’t sure to expect to be honest!!

Giving an honest review, if you want a good steak in this resort.
