Don Cafeto Tulum Ruinas — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

We were in Tulum in Oct 2024, and I saw this on the map on the day we headed to the ruins. We got here around 10:30 am and glad we did, we had a delicious breakfast before setting off to a hot day exploring the ruins. This place is conveniently located on the way to the ruins and it was a great fresh option. We had fresh made juices and breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food, we were party of 8 with 2 small kids and it was very enjoyable and the temperature in the open dinning room was cool that morning 72 -74 deg F. Beugrottunk egy ebédre, bár ne tettük volna. Az étel elfogadható volt, bár a feleségem este már nem bírt enni és másnapra gyomorrontása lett, de ami fizetéskor következett, az az igazi aljasság. 380 pesoból majdnem 500 lett. A pincér oda sem akarta adni a számlát. Mondta, hogy 418 lesz, ami 10% borravaló, mondtam, hogy rendben hiszen ennyit akartam adni. Adtam 500 pesot, visszahozta a visszajárót és el kezdett össze-vissza beszélni. Ezután kivett a kezemből még egy 50-est és elment. Le se tudtam reagálni, olyan gyorsan csinálta. Nem akartam veszekedést, így mi is elmentünk. Ez gyakorlatilag csalás. Mexikó szégyene ez a hely, bár más helyen is sokszor próbálják becsapni az embert. The food was acceptable, although my wife could no longer eat it in the evening and had a stomach upset the next day, but what happened when I paid was the real meanness. It turned into almost 500 out of 380 pesos. The waiter didn't want to give the bill either. He said it would be 418, which is a 10% tip, I said it was okay. This restaurant by the ruins is 10000% a must try! If you're going to the ruins anyway, make sure you get breakfast or a meal here. This was recommended by the hotel staff but was also a word of mouth recommendation from fellow tour mates and I can tell you, it does not disappoint!

The prices are pretty cheap for what you get! Very very large servings of food and they are really good legitimate Mexican food. The best we've tried here in Tulum! 10/10 will come back if I'm in...
