El Dorado — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

The food was terrible! The food quality is extremely low, the steak was inedible, the mashed potatoes had undercooked hard chunks in them, the chocolate brownie didn’t taste much of chocolate, the carrot cake had virtually no carrots. I left having eaten about 6 bites of food. The service was also poor and beyond slow. 2 appetizers never came, they brought the wrong food for my daughter, which by the time it was remade she was no longer interested in eating, only wanted to go to bed as we had now been there 90 mins. It shouldn’t take 25 mins to be seated when you have a reso nor 2.5 hours for dinner unless there’s a show to go with it or many courses. Now I’m hangry and wish I had brought more snacks from home. I came with my family on a 5 day all inclusive and we went to El Dorado for an a la carte dinner one night. You do not need to reserve for the restaurant as it’s first come first serve. We were here during low season so we were seated quickly in a restaurant that was relatively empty.

The salad bar is self serve and replenished frequently. We ordered a beef steak and a T-bone both medium rare, the waiter asks us to check the cook temperature immediately after placing the meals. The food came relatively promptly, albeit it is not a fast dining experience. Expect for the entire meal to take 45minutes to an hour.

Salad bar dreadful, not appealing and not as menu described. Steak not cooked as requested, not edible. Sauces watery and not as menu described. Table next door didn’t touch dessert so didn’t try any. Asked for red wine, poured in a few mls of red as finished bottle and didn’t return. Complained to waiter at end of meal. He noted complaints. Would not return if visited at home and would have asked for return of money. Not able to do this as already paid for holiday !!!!!!!!!( all inclusive).
