La Palapa (Buffet) — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Nice choice of food, staff are great too. It's only my second day here and impressed so far so if this review turns out to be inaccurate as the holiday progresses I'll edit and change accordingly.

My only issue (this seems to be the case at buffets who have various dishes beside each other) is that food utensils are without clear indication of which item of food they should be used for so if particular with food eg you don't eat any meat from the pig it's quite annoying where guests use a single utensil for meat, veg pretty much everything through laziness and i guess selfishness. This would also bother a vegetarian who serves up a meal to find meat on their plate. This is inevitably the behaviour of guests but a notice near food or reminding guests on arrival before seating wouldn't hurt (staff ask about allergies on arrival).

Still rating the buffet as 4* as they can only do so much to control the behaviour of guests but guidance isn't impossible and as mentioned about this is no reflection on the food or lovely staff...

We went here for breakfast and lunch during our stay, and for a buffet selection, the food was fantastic. There was a little of everything for everyone, and I appreciate that they have so much vegetables, fruit, and lean protein options! And I also love the Mexican cuisine selections (so much delicious salsa yum).

The service is also incredibly friendly —everyone but especially the greeter lady Quetzabel and Angeles who always greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm. They just made our meal time feel even more special.

At night this restaurant is known as "The Grill". You can may find a wonderful selection of meat cuts to your taste, wonderful entree, and great dessert selection. We tried the chocolate brownie and we truly recommend. As you may know, chocolate was invented in Mexico, and truly this is the best chocolate brownie I ever had because of the wonderful bold, strong, flavourful desk chocolate brownie.
