Good, but not great, and didn’t find it a value. Did a quick Google trying to find a nice place to get lunch between visiting cenotes and did not realize it was in the Hotel Esencia (5-star hotel). We drove up and the staff quickly ushered us on a golf cart to down a jungle path; we dismounted and walked through the jungle and residences until getting to the restaurant on the beach. Location was gorgeous.
Normal food (nothing mind blowing…just normal food), normal service (multiple times I had to look around to order more water, our nanny was having trouble cutting the plastic off the baby ketchup bottle and the server didn’t help) and 5-star prices ($250 USD for a lunch for 3 with no alcohol) - left with an underwhelming feeling.
The staff were great (folks who helped us to the gate and the restaurant) - but left with a feeling of [insert shoulder shrug].
As I edit this, I’m like I paid 60 USD for a pretty basic, plain beef...
