Refresh Open Kitchen Restaurant — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Outstanding food. My husband and I have a home here in PA in November and spend most of the rest of the year in Colorado, USA. This restaurant is worth the walk or wander away from the tourist area of Puerto Aventuras to the Centro Park market. Fresh had super fresh food with such phenomenal combination of flavors that each bite was a delicious treat onto itself. We had the lentil soup and were told it would take 20 minutes to cook. It did and it was well worth the wait. We also had the cold shrimp soup (gazpacho, I would have called it in the States) and that was the best shrimp I have had in P.A. Not overcooked, not undercooked, not-over or under-seasoned, just absolutely perfect. The teriyaki salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. Yum! The service was excellent and considerate. I gave the atmosphere a 4 out of 5 because you have to be ready for lots of children. I'm not used to children around but it does make for a lively atmosphere. First visit to Refresh for my wife and I. Probably the least interesting surroundings of any restaurant in PA but then, we did not come here for the view but for the food. First off, we shared the nachos which were the low point so I'd pass on those. Then we ordered the barbacoa tacos and the skirt steak with mashed potatoes and salad. The barbacoa tacos are - by far - the very best tacos we've had in PA (after trying probably 85% of them?) and the skirt steak was incredibly flavor full and tender with equally terrific mashed potatoes. My wife and I had our wedding welcome party at Refresh. It was the perfect location for the event! The food (tacos, tostada, and more) was delicious and the space was open and welcoming for our crowd of 65 guests. So many of our guests remarked on the high quality of the food, service, and venue.
