There is no better place to dine in Akumal. Really!! The food it's very tasty, yummy and especially it has the real Italian taste.
The dishes are presented in a noble and charming way starting from simple cocktail (try the grapefruit negroni!!)
The staff takes care of you fully with smile and kindness. An example of it was the Christmas ave day where me and my wife went to Taverna to have dinner, but it was a bit late. Despite so they accommodate us, serve amazing food, and celebrate the Christmas Eve with a cheer with all the staff including the Ower, Leonardo Leonetti, also primary chef of Taverna who is very kind and welcoming.
In other words that was the best italian dinner experience ever for me and my wife outside Italy.
I would recommend it to everyone. You will not be disappointed neither a bit!!!
Congrats again Leonardo for the...

We were able to see the kitchen and cooks from where we sat and they were pleased to engage with us especially when we applauded the chef's seafood platter which is plenty for two. Amazing authentic Italian pasta and superb catch of the day (grouper) was served up in good time and all with a smile. Three couples enjoyed drinks, appetizers, entrées and desserts for about $80cdn each. A great meal to end an awesome...

My family ordered a margherita pizza, pasta with tomato and basil sauce, and gnocchi bolognese. All were delicious. The meal started with some bread and our choice of oil and balsamic vinegar. We felt a bit like we were betraying the location of Mexico by eating Italian style food, but it was so good we quickly stopped caring about that. It feels a little "nicer" style if you want to get dressed up that's fine, but folks were also welcome in flip flops,...
