Gombos Pizza — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

Waited at the front entrance for 5 minutes, and then eventually sat myself. Took 10 minutes for them to see me and bring a menu. The bar looks very fancy, and the cocktails look great, but the pizza was extremely disappointing. I ordered a Margherita pizza and was brought a pizza with no tomato sauce, barely any cheese, mushrooms, ham, green/red bell pepper, and onion?? Definitely not a Margherita pizza. Dough was very bad, and definitely not fresh. For the price I expected way more. Tasted more like a flatbread than a pizza. I would have sent it back, but I was short on time. (The table next to me sent theirs back.) I had to flag down the server to pay, and he brought me my bill and then went back to the kitchen for another 10 minutes. I had to ask the bartender to get his attention because I was in a hurry. Told him I would only tip 5% and he said that wasn't an option and added himself a 15% tip?? Very disappointed. Would be a nice spot for cocktails (hence the 2 star rating instead of 1) but only if you're not in a hurry! And stay away...

Super cute place! Love the atmosphere. We have probably walked by this place 100 times and never stopped, but thank to the Tabby app and their 10% discount, we decided to give it a try. The enchiladas verdes were the best we've had in San Miguel, and we've had many. The sauce was perfection! The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist and flavorful, not dry like you get frequently. We also ordered the chef salad, which was delicious. The only thing I would change is the way they did the bacon. It was 2 whole pieces on top, which looks pretty, but crumbled is better for a salad. They had 2 types of homemade dressing, a vinegarette and a ranch/blue cheese, both delicious! Service was excellent! I'm so glad we finally...

But, WOW!, what a great, diverse menu with delicious and well-prepared meals.

That was totally unexpected but very much appreciated. I was there for the first time with a San Miguel men’s social/luncheon club.

I had a pork and shrimp meal that included rice, corn, pineapple, another fruit, veggies, etc., covered by a tasty brown sauce.

The service, staff and management were all great and glad to see us. I’m definitely going back to explore their menu.
