La Alborada — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

I've eaten here a few times over the years. Unfortunately, it seems to really have gone downhill. The food was mediocre, service was slow despite the restaurant being empty. The space is dirty and cluttered. They don't take cards, despite presenting us with a printed bill in a folder with a spot for a credit card. This information was not on the menu (we speak English and Spanish). We had to walk several to an ATM in order to pay.

There is so much fabulous food in San Miguel, skip this place and go somewhere,...

Warning. We'd been here before over many years, coming for their pozole. But we went yesterday the food wasn't very good at all and the service was worse. We had been told it wasn't good anymore by a chef friend in San Miguel. But we figured the pozole will probably be fine... Ugh. We should have listened. I think it still has a high rating because of previous reviews. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. This was our worst meal...

Amazing service. Front to Back of House. Young Bilingual workers who know customer service is key, next to their great dishes and bowls! I was super STOKED to find this place as a Commercial Kitchen Chef myself... Finding good eats is a bit hard, as I hold a very high standards. Generously portioned servings and as always- reasonable prices. Fine Selection of Cervezas as well -BONUS!!!
