Rincón de Don Tomás — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

We tried eating here while visiting San Miguel de Allende on New Year's eve but the older man with gray hair was very rude. He first told us there was a waitlist so I said ok, no problem and we wait in front of him as he calls the other customers in line first. Then as I'm waiting right in front of him, he writes ✍️ in another person to the waitlist that had just arrived skipping me. I made sure to tell him, I was first but he said the other guy told him I never signed in. I told him there was no where to sign in because he had the paper and pencil. Then he just said well I just signed you in after her if that's OK? Well no that was not ok. We ended up leaving since it seemed our money had no value there and ate at another restaurant where we were treated with way better customer service. I understand you get many customers due to being in the center of everything but honestly stop discriminating against your own people. And remember you have a job because of the tourist that...

The were very kind, but it was too expensive, they sold us a wine telling us a price then we asked another bottle because we were 16 and they didn't have it, but they didn't tell it to us; they (not so) secretly bought a different wine from I don't know where and they sold it to us to an higher price then the other. Food was good, nothing special but one of us asked for an arrachera and received liver, the most of us went for arrachera by the way but we all had different cuts of meat with different tastes, event cooking was sometimes different from the ordination. One star, because when I ate here (Enchiladas de Mole) two years ago, I had food poisoning later that night. My last night in this beatiful town was spent sleeping on the bathroom floor, because I couldn't go too far from the toilet. My friends, who each took a bite of my meal, also had to rush to the bathroom a few times. This was such a bad experience, that I feel compelled two years later to write a review. Based on others that I've read, not much seems to have changed.

And the fact that I got food poisoning from a RESTAURANT but not from the shady food stands on the corner of Mexico City just speaks to the cleanliness...
