I have been communicating with Sollano 18 since September 5 making sure that our NYE dinner was perfect. I have had communication with staff members over instagram, text message and what’s app. Everyone was accommodating towards us and I so appreciated it. We made a reservation for 16 people.
We all were so excited for our NYE dinner and experience. When we arrived they set up a table for 10 people. Not where I asked and no heaters like I asked for (no big deal). 6 of us were left standing for over an hour! I tried speaking to a few staff members who completely ignored me and did nothing to help. We finally spoke to a manager who kept arguing with me saying we did not reserve for 16. I showed him all my conversations via text, what’s app and instagram. He tried to say it was not the same restaurant yet he was holding a tablet that had my number with the conversations. I did not appreciate him trying to say I was wrong when I had proof in my hand. When I called him on it they finally “tried” to accomodate us. I understand that NYE is a busy night but that’s exactly why I booked months in advance. I was so embarrassed for all the guests that came with me to celebrate NYE. It was a horrible experience for everyone and set the mood for the night. We all sat together but so close we couldn’t move and no one could get out from the table without everyone moving.
POSITIVES- Server Diego was incredible! He was so apologetic even though there was no reason for him to be. Manager Alejandro realized what happened after the hours wait and did try to help the situation which I appreciate and helped serve our table. He definitely tried to make our experience better. Thank you Alejandro and Diego. My ribeye and wine was delicious thank goodness. The views were gorgeous.
I do think that the potential of this restaurant is incredible, it was just too bad that our party had a bad experience. I hope that customer service becomes more of a priority...

We decided to make this our special 1 year wedding anniversary dinner on our trip to SMA. Unfortunately we could not even make it to lobby. One day before and day of I was reached out to confirm my reservation. So I did. We got ready and headed out to Sollano to celebrate our special night. Sadly when we arrived we were told on front desk that the place was about to closed and there was not way to make it to restaurant as they kitchen was already closed and people was starting to leave. It was 10 PM. I was surprised and so disappointed because I made plans around this special reservation and even more. from the staff reaching out to confirm. I feel it was so unprofessional from the place and staff , we had to leave without any answers or explanation of what had just happened. No dinner (even with booking 2 months previously) on our anniversary night- smh!
Thanks to yelp we were able to find this amazing restaurant called Pueblo Viejo. Staff was so friendly and welcoming since the moment we stepped in. Read moreVisited on a Sunday evening. Party of 6 was easily able to make reservations and get in with a great view. The music is fun this place has a great atmosphere. Everything was going amazing. If you drink beer, ask for it with a little foam. The pour is awesome to watch. When we got our appetizers, one plate was missing. We didn't say anything. However, when the main dishes came, the waiter said the other person in our party food was coming. The waiter brought the appetizer instead of the main dish. Then said the hamburger was on its way. 14 minutes later, he brought the hamburger when the rest of us were done eating. During the 14 minutes, we tried to flag the waiter down. Finally, we asked for someone to get him for us. When he arrived, he brought the hamburger. When we mentioned how long it took, he said cause the 1st order was an appetizer, but it didn't come with the rest of the appetizers. Either way, it spoiled our whole experience. He could have just apologized and gave us a discount and carried on. We would have had desert and more drinks, but we decided to end the night.
