Upon entering the establishment, you are greeted with friendly faces - as if to welcome you home.
The menu is just expansive enough - for good reason.
I went here for dinner and lunch and am excited to tell you about my experience.
Last night, for dinner, my partner and I consumed the beet salad and burrata. It truly blew my mind with the delicacy of each dish. Every flavor balanced perfectly among each other even when we combined the dishes in the end.
The chicken can only be defined as a perfect execution, and the meatloaf made me feel as if I was in nanas kitchen.
The lemon tart with lavender scented whipped cream is something everyone should try in their life - especially with their house made cafe ice cream.
For lunch - we'll I'm still here. In fact I might stay here for quite some time. At the moment, I just consumed one of the most delicious tacos I've had thus far in my life - a tandoori chicken taco with cucumber and mint and jalapeño with tahini yogurt sauce in a tortilla.
I'm waiting on the corn and shrimp chowder as I can still taste the delicate Caesar dressing from the baby Romaine Caesar that lay before me just minutes ago.

Read moreFor a restaurant of this caliber, there is an unfortunate lack of front-house management.
A year ago on a week-long cooking and restaurant tour, this was to be the highlight dinner, but they botched the reservation and didn't ready our twelve-top. We helped them move tables around and made the best of the evening.
This year, here on our own, we made a Tuesday 8 pm reservation, arrived on time, and were told the tables were taking a bit long. Shuffled up to the bar we were sat at a comfy table and waited for service. After 10 minutes I went to the bar and ordered my own drinks. I mean literally, Nobody. Even. Looked. At. Us.
After another 35 minutes of Nobody. Even. Looking. At. Us., I walked to the front, and, S.T.F.D., my table was ready... Actually 3 tables were ready, take your pick!
Thoroughly discussed, we left and walked over to La Sirena Gorda (the mermaid bar), ordered a couple of drinks, two top-end tequila shooters, and an appetizer. They tuned in the Olympics, gave us great service, and saved our evening.
Will never go back to The Restaurant again. They don't deserve our business. The mermaid bar does.

Read moreSERVICE: was excellent, after they noticed that I don't speak Spanish, they talked in English with me and in Spanish with my Girlfriend ATMOSPHERE: I would describe it as romantic, all though it was very cold, there are some heaters but not for every table. Maybe in the future they will get some blankets for those tables without a heater. MUSIC: The music was current pop music, I had the impression some classic would fit better to the atmosphere. SPECIAL: The roof of the restaurant can be opened during warm nights and I can imagine it has a great view of the sky WINE & BEER: I didn't order wine but the wine menu was quite large and included local and international options. The selection for beer was more limited compared to the selection of wine, but still with about 7 different local brews it was big enough. FOOD: It was the best food I had in Mexico so far (after about 20 days). I had a fish lightly spiced served with an extra bowl of tomatoes-jalapeño sauce. The complementary bread was...
