Sadly, not great.
I was here about four years ago and it was fairly good, but this time not so much. The margarita was so salty it was undrinkable, the food (nachos con carne) were terribly bland (like, retirement home food…seriously), and the baño (men’s at least) was absolutely covered in urine and filth. I notified the lady at the counter and she apologized, but twenty minutes later it was still the same. My wife said the lady’s room was slightly better.
Our waiter was far more interested in the 70+ year olds that came through for a beer.
To be fair, it was around 2:30pm, fairly low attendance, so maybe they were on staff changeover? But it was not great.
Pricing was also very high compared to most other places we had been on the Malecón. This was not the main boardwalk area, it’s on the Playa Olas Altas section. One small margarita, one (small) nachos con carne, and an agua: $350 pesos or $27 CAD
Maybe they cater more to older folks, but it certainly didn’t give me something to encourage others...
Read moreWe were first drawn to the location of this restaurant. Beautiful view right on the ocean. That’s the only reason we give it 2 stars. We went for lunch. We’re not “tourists”. We live in Mazatlan. Though I’m Caucasian, I speak fluent Spanish and have lived in TX most of my life. All that to say, I don’t expect to say “I make this better” when I go to a restaurant in Mazatlan, Mexico. That’s exactly what I said. The food was very bland and I’ve never been served french fries with a chile relleno (which I ordered the shrimp relleno and they came back and said they could only make cheese relleno). THEN, they tried to over charge us and slip in the tip of their choosing. This was the most expensive meal we’ve had here and it was by far the worst. Just a heads up for anyone expecting delicious, flavorful and...
Read moreI have to say that the food here was exceptional on this busy and noisy Sunday night. We had spicy shrimp ceviche, not super spicy. Main courses: Camarones/shrimp in white sauce, Grilled camarones/shrimp, carne asada burrito and shrimp tacos all were great except the marlin taco was pretty dry. Our server was not as attentive as we would have liked but it was sooo busy you could see he did his best. The sunset view kept us in awe even though loud street music made conversing difficult we will go again as the food and view were definitely worthwhile. Price was...
