We tried two of their locations while staying in Mazatlán and had a great experience in both. My husband and I both enjoyed being able to eat some of the "comfort" foods of the US that are not so easy to find since we've moved to Mexico. We went to this location second, on a Saturday around 9:30am +-, and we're able to be seated immediately, even though they had already drawn quite a crowd. My only minor complaint is that when it was time to leave and we wanted to pay, we never saw our waitress. We waited probably 15 minutes before we could pay the bill. Like I said, that was probably my only complaint. We had bought a loaf of bread and a cinnamon roll to go, which were bother very good as well. I enjoyed snacking on the cinnamon roll on our drive home. We will definitely return next time we're in town!

I had heard this was a good place for breakfast. Last two times have been disappointing, I had quiche a week ago, the bottom was under cooked, the meat was chopped up sandwich lunch meat. This last time I had the omelet Manzaneco with potatoes, the potatoes were cold and the shrimp was overcooked. No fruit and no marmalade or butter for the very dry bread. update: I was contacted to respond to the owner. however the contact infomation was unusable.. could be my p.c. problem? .In response I want to thank you for your offer of being comp'd. .I am not intererested in free food, .my point is that I look for places where I can have an enjoyable meal experience. I hope the best for your establishment and that my comments are taken as recommendations for improvement.

Miguel explained the menu and described a lot of things we didn’t know about like “nopal” and a few other food items that we didn’t know how to say. There are both locals and tourists here enjoying both food and drinks! My skillet was very delicious. I don’t remember what it’s called but it started with a P. The omelette was more meat than egg but it was very fun to tear apart and put some on the tortilla. The Chille….. something was very crunchy and savoury. My SO loves spicy food, so he got 4 chilli peppers to make it more spicy! The waiter mentioned earlier when we were ordering that spicy items aren’t that spicy to cater to tourists. This cafe is very beautiful. Choose to sit inside and enjoy the hipster decor, or outside and watch the ocean waves! My

Previously my wife and I have enjoyed our experiences at both the Rico's golden zone and Rico's Olas Altas, today their Olas Altas location had trouble with menu/ordering/wrong food. We arrived about 1:30 and took a table outside. We had the standard Rico's menus on our table with lunch and breakfast items. We found what we wanted to order, and when the waiter came he said we had to order from a supper menu which didn't have what my wife wanted and was much more expensive. Very surprised that any restaurant in mazatlan would force you to eat Cena (supper) at 1:30, particularly Rico's who are known for their all day breakfast and we had breakfast/lunch menus on the table. So now we took more time to review the dinner menu, and though more expensive I found something I would eat, but my wife didn't. When the waiter came back we asked if she could have something off the breakfast/lunch menu, a bagel with smoked salmon, and he had to go check. He did let her order that, and I ordered pork shank with mashed potatoes as I love mashed potatoes with my pork. Our food finally comes and my wife's is great, but I don't have mashed potatoes. Instead I have little cut up potatoes and cauliflower and carrots. Yuck. I ask the waiter about this and he says he will check. As I am finishing my pork shank he comes back and says I was right. It was in the menu with mashed potatoes but they now make it differently. He asked if I wanted mashed Potatoes now (as we were just finishing our meals). I said no, and he never offered a bill adjustment or anything. While the pork was good and my wife's bagel was too, this experience was ruined by lack of knowledge of the menu, forcing a dinner menu at 1:30 pm, wrong food brought out, no offer to remedy the problem other than offering mashed potatoes when we were done eating. I really hope Rico's can bring back their breakfast menu through the day. I doubt I will return to their Olas Altas location which is a shame since we...
