I’ve been wanting to try Panama since I’ve been seeing it everywhere in Mazatlan and also since my favourite food vlogger Carlos Volpe recommended it. I travel solo so I went there by myself around 5:45 PM on a Friday night. It was not overly crowded and rowdy. Right away I was greeted and seated at a very clean table in a quiet area. I was given the menu. It was quite a large and confusing menu but I had prepared myself in advance. I ordered a starter of guacamole chips a Sprite and then I had the Camerones Pachones or stuffed shrimp. The guacamole and chips were very very bland. I expected a little heat or spices or even a bit of salt but nothing. Almost tasted like diet food. The shrimp dish on the other hand was overly salted. It was a combination of having the shrimp overly salted and then the onion rings were completely tasteless so needless to say I was very disappointed with the food. The presentation was really great but the food to me was not worth it what I paid for. I still gave this place four stars because I thought that the servers were extremely polite, the place was very clean and beautiful, and the service was exceptionally fast. My only disappointment was that I was sitting in an area where there was constant people going by and it was really really disturbing when I was trying to eat peacefully. I ate very quickly and left because I did not feel comfortable sitting in that area. All in all I still recommend this place. I’m sure I just ordered some dishes that were not that great but I’m sure they’ve got a lot of exceptional things. Next time I may come to try the breakfast which looks really great.

This is a pretty well-known chain in Mazatlan, and you'll find them everywhere, but this location on Camaron Sabalo is really awesome. The kids who work there are so attentive and committed. We really only when there for dessert and haven't tried their food, but the dessert cart is really something special. Best tres leches I've ever had, hands down. We took home a whole 9 inch and it was still fresh and moist 5 days later. tried the Ferraro and the cheesecake and the flan. Only the flan was a bit of a miss as it was too heavy and rich. The conchas are lovely, and the cafe de olla is something so unique. Coffee with chocolate, cloves and cinnamon, never tasted anything like it. They keep topping you up on the hot drinks. The bakery section is huge and guaranteed to make you take something home. Bathrooms and restaurant are very clean. April 2024 - Got to try some savory dishes here finally and the crunchy tacos are really excellent. The service is still good and the restaurant is spotless. I would say tho that the menu is really too big and too complicated for tourists. They would benefit from a translated copy as is available in many restaurants. Be careful when choosing your tres leches as they have two; classic white cake and cornbread (elotas) varieties. The cornbread one is very specialized and an acquired taste. We were curious about the pay de guayaba (guava pie) but it was not for us, too botanical and the fruit too firm and not sweet enough, I think you have to have grown up with this dessert to enjoy it.

The Arrachera a la Panameña plate was good. The sides on the arrachera plate were fresh. The chilaquiles with sauce were not spicy and tasted delicious. The guacamole was ok. The skirt steak was thin and I wish they cooked the steak medium rare because it was a bit dry and needed seasonings. On the other hand, the sopes were great; the fried corn dough was crunchy. The shredded beef on the sopes was juicy. The vegetables and sour cream were fresh. The salsas were good; the red salsa is number one and the green salsa number two in my opinion. The beverage I ordered was an orange juice with no ice; the juice tasted natural and freshly squeezed. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and family. The food is really good and the servers are friendly. Also, if you want to dine in I would recommend that you chose to go before the breakfast or diner rush because you may need to wait to be seated.
