A sore disappointment, and an embarrasment to the establishment. There was too much wrong not to say something which made it extremely akward especially with it being at my friend's daughters birthday breakast. I ordered the Steak and Waffle. It comes with eggs, asparagus, and hollandaise sauce. The waitress suggested a mushroom/onion mix instead of asparagus, because they're out of stock. Ok, but it was a disappointment since it's the asparagus that hits the spot with the hollandaise. Instead my plate came time. She suggested putting my greens on a plate alone, but bywith what I think was spinich, maybe kale with onions, and there was no hollandaise sauce. I had also requested an additional hollandaise for my son's breakfast. What they brought looked like butter. It was hard enough I could hold the container upside down. It's supposed to pour, and I couldn't even melt it on anything. I said something to the waitress. She said that's how the sauce comes, and offered to take my plate for mushrooms, but I was too hungry to wait. We already waited outside a long time, and my food would get cold waiting to eat everything together with the mushrooms. It wasn't worth it, and the greens tasted fine. I just wasn't what I wanted, or asked for. When I was halfway through my food I was surprised that my waitress came back with another container of hollandaise sauce that I could actually pour, but by that time my son was also halfway through his food when he had egg whites dripping out of his sandwich, and asked me if that was ok. I showed the waitress, she said they can't get him a new one, because he ate half of it. She finally offered to have one more egg made to replace in his sandwhich. She took his plate which also included some potatoes. I ended up getting the same sandwich back that they took in a to-go container, minus the potatoes, and it looks like they just took the goopy egg white piece out of the center. There was no new egg. I picked it up, and the outside of the bread still had the egg white gooped on it. My son has never cried about some food, and was legitimately upset that he was still hungry, and had to watch everyone else eat. Although, I shared some of my waffle with him while we were waiting for his egg which he never got. They gave me a 30% discount which was 67 pesos. They would've had to comp that meal to make up for that experience especially on a special day. The whole reason people pay to eat out is for the dining experience, so when you can't even get what you ordered, and the food is half done, and the restaurant won't rectify their mistake, but want you to pay for food that was not ordered, and unedible, it doesn't makes a person feel ripped off, and disrespected. Not to mention the decaff was bitter. I would never...
Read moreThis is a must visit on your next trip to RP!! I'm pretty hard to impress, but this place was top notch even by my standards. The building is classy and the atmosphere is relaxing with a hometown feel. We waited for 10 minutes before being seated and we got there at 8:30am on a Sunday morning. Not bad at all! The wait staff (Anita) was very helpful when I asked which entre would fit my appetite. I ordered the orange juice (Naranja) and the grande plate. If you don't like having to chew your orange juice, then don't order it from here. I do however, and when it showed up I was in heaven. It's freshly squeezed. The entre's showed up not 10 minutes after we ordered and everything was perfectly cooked. The eggs were cooked exactly as I wanted, over easy. And the steak was tender and spiced just right with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Bacon strips cooked till they were crispy but not burnt. The seasoned potatoes were cooked perfectly with a great seasoning that made me wanting seconds. Now, with all that comes something I had never had... mini molletes. Pronounced "moy-yet-es". Think Texas toast with refried beans and cheese. I was skeptical about it, but do NOT give this away to your friends. Not even a bite! Horde this for yourself! Let them wonder why you have that satisfied look on your face as you mumble to yourself how amazing it tastes. My gf got the breakfast sandwich and it was eye-popping how huge the sandwich was. She couldn't eat it all, so of course, I had to help her finish it. :) Now, the 2 entrées with 2 juices came to $26 American. This was easily a $50 meal in the states. And the freshness of the ingredients wouldn't compare. I'll be coming here every time I visit RP and you...
Read moreNo bueno for us. We visited for the first time and the lady that took our name down told us to wait outside. Not too friendly but ok. It wasn't that busy and she said there would be about a 20 minute wait. She called my name, but it wasn't our turn so she asked me to put down another name--even though the person with the same name was then being seated. Again, a bit abrupt but ok. We were hungry and looking forward to an amazing meal as the reviews suggested. Once inside, they asked our child to put her mask on, yet we saw people both seated and walking around without masks. One meal came with a side of potatoes with a tomatoey sauce on them. Looked like something good I'd had before, but they did not taste good. Had a taste and texture of leftovers that were cool. The bulk of one of the omelet dishes was weighed down with bland cubes of white potatoes and was grossly unseasoned. There were what appeared to be blades of grass on one of our omelets and the avocado was sliced and fanned, but it was black and fibrous. I attempted to cut out the non rancid parts, but it was penetrated throughout. It also had a blade of what looked like grass on it too. Although many dishes on the menu had avocado on it, the waitress said they had no more avocados. The fruit salad also was not fresh looking. Our experience wasn't great, the food wasn't fresh or well seasoned and there was no attempt to make it right although there were opportunities. Possibly a case of success breeding...
