Borracho Cantina — Restaurant in Sonora

UPDATE 06/13/24 - Consistent. I've been a few times now. Can't get past the blackened grouper and mozzarella sticks. Best fish in R.P. Go early as to not have to hear the live band. I fully recommend. About $30 dollars without drinks. Today is 08-23-2023. First time at this joint. I have to give it a full 5 star - 2 thumbs up for the food. I ordered the blackened grouper with fettucine alfredo and a starter of mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. Now I've been all over the world and the mozzarella sticks are the biggest and best tasting I've ever had. The blackened grouper is 8oz and an inch thick, cooked perfectly. Juicy and sweet with the right amount of blackened seasoning. The chef gets this done perfectly. The fettucine alfredo is also very well made and with fresh sauce, definitely not jar sauce. I did not order any drinks and the dinnner came to 600 pesos. Which is about $38 dollars with current exchange rate. Definitely on the pricey side for Mexico but well worth the cost. The menu has a good choice and I would recommend this place for a special night out. As I said it is a bit pricey for normal every day eating...

I was looking for a place to watch all the NFL football games and get some food, and I wasn't having much luck until I asked a waiter at the 2nd bar who suggested I try Borracho. I was thrilled with all the TV options and even found a seat at the fully stocked bar even though the place was very busy. Everyone greeted me like we were old friends, and the bartender made me a special healthy non-alcoholic drink of several types of fruit and some mineral water. I ran into a couple of friends which made it more fun for me, then when I ordered food, I asked for one of their burgers but instead of the patty I wanted to trade it out for aguacate (avocado). I wanted sliced avocados, not guacamole. My server, I think named Angela (?) was a little confused but she quickly understood and I got exactly what I wanted. It was delicious! I don't know what kind of spices they add but, man, it was good, and at no extra charge. Definitely recommend this place and will probably make it my regular Sunday...

Such a fun place! They have indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating. We visited late on a Friday night and it was still happening. Their outdoor area has lots of games like corn hole. They also have a sandy area with a stage for shows. Inside was a live band that played off and on. Nice large bar with every seat occupying people talking and enjoying themselves. Service was superb and our waiter called his brother, a taxi driver, to take us back to our resort. We only got appetizers and tacos but they were great. Their bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers were bomb! They were actually spicy and not de-seeded. My boyfriend got wings and although they were small, they were saucy and flavorful. We had a rough time that evening and this place turned it around for us! Can’t wait to visit again and bring...
