Updated review.....11/08/22 - Nov. 8th AVOID THIS PLACE. I haven't been in some months. Went there for breakfast and what should have been a $15.00 dollar breakfast turned out to be $34.00 dollars for three people. Only changes were toast (2 pieces) on one order instead of tortillas and my friend had two top shelf tequilas (Don Julio blanco) instead of well tequilas. I have no clue where the extra $18.00 dollars came from. Oh and the other two drinks have almost zero alcohol in them. My bloody mary tasted like garbage and my friends tequila sunrise had very little alcohol, my friend said it was also garbage. I live here in Penasco now and won't be going back. Lucky's needs to be changed to Extortion's. Old review below....... Mediocre. The $5.00 breakfast is worth the price...sometimes. I've eaten Lucky's for breakfast a few dozen times over the past 2 years when I visit R.P. Breakfast is the same 3 eggs any style...I get mine over hard. Beans, hashbrowns (usually cold and old), 2 strips of bacon and 2 sausage links. Plus a Bloody Mary. That's the catch, you order a drink - $5.00 and the breakfast is free. Most of the time everyone ends up ordering 2 drinks. I've only tried their bottomless all you can eat fish one time. NEVER AGAIN. The fish was so wafer thin and overcooked like jerky. Horrible. Like every place in R.P. it's hit and miss. The breakfast is only good for...
Read moreMy family and I had lunch here after seeing the positive reviews, but were quite disappointed by the service and food overall despite the nice waterfront setting. Lucky's has both inside seating as well as a fairly large, uncovered rooftop patio with a pleasant ocean vista. Thanks to the ocean view, I've given an extra star, earning Lucky's an underwhelming two stars total. While the waiters were polite and spoke good English, the service was slow and waiters were inattentive, with certain members of our group often being neglected for drink orders or not being brought things like utensils and napkins. Half of our group is vegetarian, and we were disappointed to discover that no vegetarian options whatsoever were offered. The food itself was subpar at best with soggy tortillas, rubbery chicken, and overall poorly seasoned fare and paltry portions. Finally, many of the staple beverages listed in the menu including piña coladas and Tecate light were not available to order. Prices were unreasonably high given both the poor quality and meager quantity of the food, and our entire group left feeling unsatisfied and hungry. I would not recommend Lucky's Cantina to anyone looking for food in...
Read moreLuckys was recommended by some local friends and it is right on the water. Salsa super bland and pale in color, everyone thought the rice was terrible. It was so undercooked and hard and had no flavor. I complianed and not much was said but thank you. Drinks were not good, we switched to beer. Everyone raves about the free breakfast with the purchase of a drink. Maybe that's good but our lunch was not. Most reviews talk about that deal. Someone else who reviewed indicated to check your checks and that is a fact. I cannot for the life of me figure out how 4 of us got a bill for over 2100 pesos even if tax was added on. Maybe prices on the menu are not right? Pretty sure we were over charged. Shame on us for not looking more into the bill at the time. The server did not give us the check, he held it and told us the price again our bad on that. Have had much better Mexican in the states for about...
