Several things wrong with this restaurant.
There was a parking space directly in front of their entrance. We got out of the car and the restaurant employee approached with a menu and encouraged us to come in, which is what we planned. I pulled out a 50 peso note (a little under three US dollars) and said I needed change for the meter. He said they would cover the meter if we came in. So we assumed they would.
Restaurant was very empty, four of us and only one other couple. It took ten minutes to get menus and then ten minutes later we flagged down a server (there were six visible) to order. Another ten minutes and we asked where our drinks were (three waters and a coke).
Food eventually arrived. It was adequate but nothing exceptional.
When we asked for our check (we had asked for separate checks), our original server was no where to be seen. Another server showed up with a single combined check. After much explanation (shouldn’t be that hard to split four entrees, one side and four drinks) we finally were able to pay.
We walked out to our car to find the police had put a boot on the car for not paying the meter. Our original greeter/server was nowhere to be found and the other servers all said it wouldn’t have happened if THEY had known it was our car. Mysteriously they didn’t seem to have a manager in the restaurant to talk too. So $25 USD later we got the boot removed and we were able to leave.
There are too many GOOD restaurants in Puerto Peñasco to waste time on this sorry excuse of a restaurant. Bad service, meh food, and lying employees....
Read moreI really wanted to like it. There was a super friendly waiter outside who caught us and convinced us to eat there and we gave it a try because it has an awesome view to the beach. We ordered our food and we were 2 separate checks. The cold food arrived first and they took forever to bring the hot food. There were a lot of things that they didn't bring to the table which we had to keep asking for it and even get up of the table because they kept forgetting about it. I thought the food was gonna compensate the bad service but no. I ordered carlos V shrimps which was a tiny plate of shrimps with vegetables and a sweet sauce. The rest of my family ordered the cold molcajetes they weren't that bad but like I said they didn't even bring enough tostadas and we were waiting for ever. When it was time to pay the waiter forgot to separate the food and gave us a whole check so we had to go to the register and remember what each group ate. The prices are high considered you are in Mexico but I guess thats because it's touristic. I would recommend just eat at a carreta or something which is more authentic and cheaper prices for better food and probably even...
Read moreThis place was a bit much. The food is pretty good. Not the best I have had, but pretty good. The prices were alright. The issue was the aggressive adversing by the restaurant staff. Hailing is over and over to come inside and trying to force our car into a parking spot in front of the restaurant.
We avoided the place until we realized we needed to use the restroom and get hydrated on a very hot August day. Against our better judgement, we went in.
The staff had no concept of personal space or boundaries. They slapped my husband on the back over and over again when he has nervous system injuries. It was painful for him and he couldn’t figure out a way to make them stop.
Then there were the constant whistles and comments on how I, the woman in the group looked. They wouldn’t stop hitting on me, touching my husband, and microaggessing him because his Spanish comes from New Mexico. I realize these are cultural differences, but if you want to go to a restaurant and be touched, microagressed, hit on, and bothered while you are eating over and over again, go here. We won’t...
