Don't go here. They don't honor currency rates. Only eat here if you are paying in pesos, and even then, the food is mediocre.
Had a filet mignon that was just a lower quality cut of beef wrapped in bacon. The shrimp my wife had was decent at least. Total came to 805 pesos. It is currently 18.74 pesos to the dollar, yet they made the total $50.50 in US currency. I let them know the total should be closer to $43 and he told me that the exchange rate is only 17 pesos to the dollar. I showed him on my phone that that wasn't true (plus, at 17 pesos to the dollar, the total should have been closer to $47). When he told me no bank would give me over 18 pesos for a dollar, I pulled up the Mexican banks on my phone and showed him all of them being over 18 pesos to the dollar. He just smiled at me and told me I could leave my wife there and come back with pesos (they don't accept credit cards or debit cards since they will charge the correct amount).
I gave him $51.00 and left. Joke's on him though. I'd been tipping around $10-$15 on this trip, so I would have given him more had he not been a dishonest crook.
Can't trust the quality of the food or the honesty of the management. Better to just go to Mary's Seafood or another bar/restaurant. Hopefully this dump goes out of business and is replaced with...
Read moreI was really disappointed. The food was delicious but my friend and I both got food poisoning after sharing plate of seafood.
On top of food poisoning, which is the LAST thing I wanted on vacation, the server and management got frustrated with us after we tried to pay with a credit card. They charged us 410 pesos for a single plate of food and two non alcoholic drinks, took 15 minutes attempting to do so, failed, then charged us 450 pesos claiming the extra 40 pesos charge was a "3% bank fee". Not sure how 40 is "3% of 440" ( it's closer to 9%), but at that point we were just sick of having our time wasted and and just paid whatever they wanted. And no, the credit is NOT being charged in dollars. We used a Chase Premium Credit Card which waives all transactions fees and exchange.
Usually I just chuck this up to minor inconvenience of eating in a resturant outside the country, but after I been having stomach cramps all night, I needed to leave a review if not to warn others about the...
Read moreIt was a nice. We ordered the shrimp and fish dolphin style per the waiters recommendation. It was okay, but not something we would ever order again. We were told it was citrus based and a little sweet because of the citrus. It was citrus, but it was kind of creamy sweet soup with lots of zucchini and other veggies served in an aluminum formed bowl. The bread was good. I wish Daniel, our waiter had listen to us when we asked and said we didn't want sweet. Also, he was very attentive at first and then disappeared (out talking with fellow servers on the steps) leaving the bus boy to help us and a lot of other tables. Daniel spoke good English so communication was easy, but the poor young bus boy struggled somewhat. It really was sad that our server chose not to complete his job. I just hope he was respectful enough to share the tip with the young man that did more than half of his work. 🤔 The view was quite nice. We sat...
