This is the best food we’ve had in our 5 visits to Tequis in the past 3 years. And the service was outstanding. The food was so good the first night (I had the 5 taco sampler which was enough food for at least 2 people) that we went back the second night of our 2 night trip. Both nights were during the heat wave that was causing rolling blackout outs in central Mexico, and despite the electricity going out both nights for over an hour, they didn’t miss a beat. They just brought us candles for a romantic dinner and delivered food that was perfectly cooked and so good. The staff recommended interesting wines for our food and they were spot-on. (No, we are not friends with anyone who works there or anyone in Tequis, he’s just genuinely passionate about what he does and likes to share that). We live in San Miguel de Allende so we are used to excellent food, and this was on par with the best restaurants in SMA but without the attitude or high prices. We will be back. The soft shell crab taco and the carajillo cheesecake “donut” were my favorites. My husband had a beef dish that I can’t find on the online menu but it was exceptional. (A smoked tender beef over mashed potatoes with crisp grilled...

As a “foodie” who has traveled and lived throughout central Mexico, this restaurant was an incredible and unique find that I would expect to see...
