Maíz Pinto — Restaurant in Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl

Too tiny and disrespectful to loyal customers that is not valuable to come back.

This restaurant at first sight seems like the right place to have breakfast. With a good design, and good that feel a bit above average when you look at the common Mexican breakfast. It was my place to go when recommending Tlaxcala to other people specially my foreigner friends, but today, when I notice they value more money than customer loyalty, I realize it’s not valuable enough to keep it in my list.

Our Airbnb host recommended Maiz Pinto so we arrived around noon while the restaurant only offered the breakfast menu. We returned around 1pm to enjoy the comidas of the afternoon menu. First we shared a plate of 4 sopecitos especiales which were mounded up with delicious ingredients...the best sopes that we have eaten in Mexico. I really can't recommend this place enough! If you're up for local food but already tired of chilaquiles, enchiladas and tacos, that's the perfect spot for you. Local flavours (mole/green pipián/tamales), beautiful presentation and super friendly service.
