This has to be the best high end restaurant in El Cuyo. We have eaten at a Lot of places in town and this place is amazing. The atmosphere and general vibe is relaxed but a bit classy at the same time kinda of place you probably need a shirt to feel comfortable. The owner is very welcoming and his english is fantastic. The waiters and waitresses are attentive and understand enough english to get by. With our limited spanish we had no trouble getting by. It was so good the first night we went back the next. We were craving beef and we both ordered thier burger. It was maybe a 1/2 lb patty on a great bun cooked exactly to order. It was amazing. Definitely the best burger I have had in months and I eat a lot of burgers. It's priced accordingly but definitely worth the investment. I will have it again before my vacation is up. The next night we went back and got the steak. It's called picanna steak I believe. Once again fantastic cook precisely right and very flavorful. Not tuff and pretty lean. It's a generous portion. I'd geuss possibly 12 oz. The mash potatoes were good and the grilled onions perfect combination with the steak. This is priced very reasonably. You could not get a steak like this in the usa for anywhere near this price. I would say you would pay 2 to 3 times the price in any small town USA for a similar steak.
Definitely a must...

Read moreIt was a pleasant surprise. By accident we entered “ZAPOTE” just to have a drink. No problem for the staff, but she warned us that if we might have a look at the menu we probably will eat.. Of course we did! Thank God for that! But first, as we don’t drink alcohol we asked if it was a problem to make a virgin Mojito. I used to love them with Rum. The Mojito was perfect.. Check! Mmm.. Should we maybe have a starter, as we are here now.. Ceviche with schrimps & fish (catch of the day” and Tortillas with meat and chipotle. Life doesn’t need to be complicated to be good.. this was the perfect start! Finally as main course we had a green salad, catch of the day and the Campeche shrimp's. Both dishes were served with mashed Plantain Bananas and a green vegetable a bit similar to Spinach.. Anyway, all of them simple but sooo tastefully! Fresh ingredients cooked with the heart and passion = Great food experience! She told us… The food is great here! And not to mention the staff! Thank you for the hospitality and we wish you guys a lot of succes with this great place full of good food and vibes! Side note: Great music you were playing same passion...
