Bottomlone, Good food but, really bad and slow service. I stayed at the courtyard recently and decided to try the restaurant. The Indian looking managers on Friday night seemed welcoming and sat me down. The Indian waiter on Friday night was really slow. I had to wait 20+ minutes to place an order and another 15 for the appetizers to come out. He would take or deliver food from other tables and bypass me without asking if I was ready to place my order. I decided to try again on Sunday night ($10 discount for Marriott members), and it wasn't any better. It was another Indian/Pakistani waiter, and after placing my initial order, I never saw him come to my table. I had to go to the bar in the middle of my meal to order my second drink, so I can wash down my meal. Then after finishing my drink, my waiter never came, and I "waited" for him to come. After 20 minutes, I got up and was about to just leave. Instead I went to the bar and saw he was on his phone on WhatsApp. I saw he had left several voice messages to someone rather than wait on his tables.

I still left tips both times but minimal, because the food was hot and decent.

The atmosphere was good on Friday with a DJ playing pop music and a bit more patrons, but other than that, they need to fix this waiting staff, not taking care of/ "waiting" on their customers. The 2 male managers need to step it up, because they allow this...

This restaurant I found difficult to review,. mainly because there were so many flaws with the service but the food was superb. The New York Restaurant & Bar is not in any way an American diner, far from it. It's a lovely, intimate, stylish, extremely comfortable upscale restaurant. The first night I tried the venue, the service was very good, polite and professional, however this was blown out of the water when after receiving the first course, the main course arrived 4 minutes later. This meant the table.was cluttered with food waiting to be eaten. I'm guessing the kitchen was keen to get the orders out asap. Not good practice! The same thing happened to another table who were obviously very annoyed about the situation. However the food was an absolute delight, very flavoursome and fabulous fresh ingredients. As the food was so good I booked for the next night. When arriving that evening it was obvious that the waiting crew were short staffed, although they didn't mention it. This caused massive waits for drinks and food. 20 minutes to order first and main courses and another 40 minutes to order dessert and a ridiculous 30 minutes for the bill. I have to say the staff were very pleasant throughout and did their best. Yesterday I had an amazing dininf experience at the hotel's other restaurant zaxi so I thought this would be the same. How wrong could I have been. The Angus steak was poor quality meat that looked and tasted processed frozen food. Served with a microscopic half baked potato. Service was poor as I felt neglected throughout the night whilst the front of house spent his entire evening chatting to his mate a few tables down. Wait for the dessert menu was over 15mins and only after I reminded them about it. Would only back here again if forced to....
