Ma Poêle Smoke House restaurant agadir — Restaurant in Agadir

Sorry to say we went here based on the high review rating but it was not our experience. The seating is outdoors which is fine, but waiting staff seemed distracted or dealing with another restaurant attached (?) which is a sushi bar. Order was taken (main courses only) but we were still waiting for our food after another table had arrived after us, had starters and mains and paid and left! We were about to just get up and go when order arrived. Burger ordered specifically without cheese had loads of American style squeeze cheese in it so had to send it back. The waiter didn’t get the order wrong as when he took it back to their kitchen counter I heard him explain it had been clearly ordered “sans fromage”. But,… they just scraped the liquid cheese off and didn’t even change the roll which meant my son really didn’t enjoy it (he dislikes cheese a lot!). My wife’s kebabs were cold but she said tasted OK. My tuna salad was very nicely presented and mixed with avocado and nice salad, but overly drenched in an oil that kind of made it all just taste the same which was a pity. Later that evening my son had an upset stomach and next day extreme vomiting and upset. He had eaten the same as us at breakfast, lunch etc and his burger was the only thing he had different. After two days of eating some really bad all-inclusive hotel food, we really needed a good dinner - and Ma Poêle did just that! The restaurant is quite understated with only a few tables outside and a simple menu, it would be easy to overlook. We ordered the grilled octopus and mixed skewers to share, along with an orange juice and detox juice. The grilled octopus was a real highlight! Perfectly cooked with a delicious grilled smoke flavour. I appreciated the huge amount of carbs served up - the rice was super tasty, seasoned well.

The service was a little slow but it didn’t affect our experience. All the staff were very friendly and working hard to cook the high standard food.

I’d definitely recommend and I can see us returning again...

I wish I could find them earlier. We ( 5 families with 7 children)were living at the seaside for our holiday but the food nearby is expensive and not good. Finally we decided to explore inside the city and came to them when there were only one and half days left in Agadir. They are so good. Both the kids and the adults couldn’t be happier with the food and the service. The octopus run fast, but all other dishes are all amazing: the seafood salad , kebab, pizza, creamy chicken with seafood, burgers… you can tell they are cooking every dish with love and passion. We went to them again before we headed to airport. We will come to Agadir again, for the good weather and for this gem restaurant… highly...
