Would not recommend. I’m extremely unimpressed. The day time receptionist was extremely rude, gave us a room with single beds and wouldn’t move us to one with a double bed which we’d paid for because it was unavailable then refused to give us a refund or any compensation. Lacking amenities, no kettle, no mini fridge or anything to eat with. Really just lacking the basic hotel room things and the wifi doesn’t work unless you’re in the lobby.
The day time receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional when we went back to ask why we were given a room with 4 single beds instead of one with a double bed then when we went back to ask to be moved to the room that we’d paid for they told us it’s not available and that we’ll have to spend the night in the room with the single beds and move to the room with a double bed the next night which is unacceptable seeing as we’d paid for a room with a double bed and THEN if we did want to move to a room with a double bed for the last three days it would be to a room overlooking the street and very loud. When we were asking why the room is unavailable when we’ve booked one with a double bed for the four nights the man at reception told us that it’s been booked to someone else because they have 60 rooms under renovation so seeing we booked about two months ago the room we originally booked was under renovation and they don’t have one for us but it should be that because we booked so long ago that we would have priority over later bookings. Then seeing they couldn’t give us the room we’d booked we wanted to get a refund and try find somewhere better but he told us it was absolutely un refundable even when not having the room we’d booked actually available for us. They then charged us extra on the tourist tax when it’s advertised as 2€ per night per person so with two people staying four nights it would be 16€ so should’ve been 164dhm but instead they charged us 179dhm. They say online that they have a laundry service with an additional cost but when we asked they said they don’t have a laundry service telling us that it was a year ago that they stopped doing that and told us rudely that we’d have to go down the street to do it. All round bad experience the only good thing about the place is...
Read moreMy husband and I wanted a budget friendly break in the sunshine in Agadir and chose Hotel Kamal based on good reviews, location, price and the fact it had a pool. The hotel is in a great spot in a relatively quiet street, away from the busy seafront, but a short stroll to the beach. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby including the lovely Scampi bistro next door, which is licensed. The hotel foyer is really nice with a large, bright lounge area. The rooms are basic, but adequate and very clean. Some have a view of the pool, some of the street. Shower was hot and soap was provided. Beds and towels changed daily. All staff were very mannerly and helpful, particularly Mohammed who manages the pool area. He was just constantly cleaning and very attentive. A wonderful asset to the hotel! Breakfast was again quite basic, but very nice and all we needed (boiled eggs, tomatoes, spreading cheese, selection of croissants, crusty bread and mmsemen, jams, mint tea, coffee and juice). The swimming pool was the highlight of our stay; immaculate, a good depth and size for a swim, surrounded by trees and well maintained plants and with plenty of sunloungers. Mohammed was always on hand with cushions or a beer or coffee from the small pool bar. Other positives about the hotel - checkout wasn’t until 12pm and we could leave our cases in reception and use the pool until our flight time, reception printed our boarding passes for us, we could charge our phones at the poolside. Not really any negatives, but if I had to improve anything it would be hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities being available in the rooms and a choice about having a balcony (we didn’t have one, despite emailing to request one). Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Kamal and would not hesitate to return. We really enjoyed...
Read moreI have some things that I wish they improve or add: Airconditioning units. I visited around mid November for 6 nights and the weather was really unpredictable, therefore, sometimes the room could be warm or just enough. Wifi should be improved. I stayed in the first floor and I sometimes find it hard to connect or even have slow connection specially during the night, most probably because everyone is using it. I know that the hotel is old and I think they're sticking to that idea, but it would be nice if they modernize the rooms as well, specifically the bed, the pillows.
P.S. This is more of like a personal experience I had that I did not like. I usually ask the receptionist in the morning about certain things if it's possible to do and there was this one time I asked him if it's possible to hang around by the pool since I saw that there were tables and seats near it - just to have my lunch or dinner and basically just to hang around and was not even thinking of swimming, he said no, yet other guests were doing it and he wasn't stopping them. The pool is one of their amenities that they're showcasing, therefore as a guest, I think I should've been allowed to do so. Lastly, it was my last day and I already checked out, I asked if I could wait in the lobby and even leave my baggages to them until I leave for my flight, he agreed so I was just seating and waiting in the lobby for my friend to arrive so we could go out, but I noticed that they were checking me out as if they're worried if I'm sleeping or doing something wrong. I find it rude. BTW, I stayed there for 6 nights and it was the 2nd time I came to their hotel to stay, but I don't think I will come back next time I...
