Giovanni House was a great experience and a great disappointment and had me filled with mixed feelings about the review.
Starting with the good experience a year ago where everything was perfect. Up until yesterday where I had a disgusting experience and an embarrassing service. So, i guess i will be judging based on this horrible experience because it was not acceptable given the present circumstances and you may judge how i see things.
I had ordered a Cesar Salad, BBQ chicken with extra cheesy crust without the BBQ sauce and mushrooms, a classic cheese burger, a Panaché and an Avocado juice. All while ordering the server who was a tall man with shallow beard seemed off, bothered and impatient.
The order took so long to arrive given the fact that the restaurant was almost empty, only 3 tables were busy including ours and the rest were outside watching the football game.
After a long wait, the server came back with the pizza and burger and no salad. After a much longer period i noticed the Avocado juice on the counter and the panaché was still being prepared i guess, then all of a sudden the Avocado juice was taken back inside as the lady making it was talking with the servers.
Even longer, the juices have finally arrived and to our suprise the Avocado juice that was freshly made replaced with an older one that was made at least hours ago as it was brown-ish, tasted horrible, and the texture was very worrying. And still, no sign of salad.
I hollered at another server and i explained how the Avocado juice was pre-made long ago. He took it back to the counter and here's where the drama starts.
Our initial server, the tall man, started talking with the second server and the lady making beverages about how we rejected the Avocado juice and it caught the manager's attention who was overseeing the restaurant. They started talking and looking back at us in a rude manner multiple times. The manager still hasn't made any move.
I hollered at the first server asking for 2 glasses of water and they brought us tap water which i had no problem with even though Casablanca's tap water is very disguting as i felt very thirsty but my friend has health issues and cannot drink tap water, asked for a bottle of water.
Up until here no sign of Avocado juice or Cesar's salad, 10mins later and the bottle of water is not here yet, and I'm telling you, the restaurant is almost empty. We ran out of patience and my friend got back in the car to get the water. While he's gone, the second server came back with the Avocado juice that looked green as it should, and i asked him to cancel the bottle of water as we were waiting for so long. He went back and told the first server that we refused and they started calling each other to see who went to get the bottle of water(they didn't have it in the restaurant so they went to buy it from outside).
5 mins after, the first server finally brought the bottle of water and i told him that we don't it anymore as it took so long to bring just one bottle of water and i mentioned the missing Cesar's salad and the server took a second then remembered that it was the first thing we ordered but forgot about it. And gave me a look full of anger and hate and took it back, the manager finally approached us and asked us how it was going and i summarized everything starting by how the food was good except the Avocado and that the experience was bad, as ge listened to my complaint he told me that the reason the avocado was brown-ish is that it gets over ripe in 5 minutes and that he personally was supervising it, but he wasn't even near the counter he was with the cashier overseeing the outter café area. I told him that the juice we were served is at least couple of hours ago. And the whole experience was not acceptable because the restaurant was empty so it they were not under pressure, but more like overthinking something that took their attention all the time. It has been 3 days and I have since received no reponse from either Giovanni House or Glovo, either from the former to this review or to my emails to both Giovanni House or Glovo. If I ran my 30-year successful business like they do theirs, I would be bankrupt in no time at all!!!
Ordered via Glovo. I gave the exact address details of the apartment block, including the floor number and apartment number. I received a message from the delivery guy saying that he had arrived, although he was supposed to deliver to the apartment. I went down to reception, but couldn't see anyone. I asked the security guard outside the building if he had seen a Glovo delivery guy. His answer: "No." Suddenly...
