(Review for L’Étage by L’Abri) Don’t bother coming here if you’re a recovering alcoholic or someone who doesn’t drink. Extremely disappointing and bordering on the illegal: The hostess informed us that the place is owned by a Moroccan man and the staff and management team pushing everyone to consume alcohol regardless of personal or religious preferences.
The management will make sure to let you know, shamelessly, that you’re not welcome if you don’t order a bottle or two. The woman in charge clearly blamed the lack of ambiance on our group, who originally came to have dinner, and celebrate my wife’s birthday. Her words were as follows: « … It’s a Saturday night and the only drinks I have here are soft (cokes and whatnot). We’re used to having clients who order and spend a lot on bottles. I understand you’re not consuming alcohol and came here for dinner, but you’re taking up two tables and you’ll have to order again and go all out now… » (verbatim)
Keeping this review short by not mentioning how they kept us waiting for more than 30 minutes before preparing the cake, hoping we’d leave early enough to free up more room.
The only positive point was the food, which we didn’t get to enjoy since the waiters came every two seconds asking if we’re done and taking away plates that were still...
Read moreRecently visited this Mediterranean spot and was pleasantly surprised. Right off the bat, Zakariya, the manager, gave us a warm welcome and showed us to a great table. The vibe was really welcoming.
Mehdi, our server, was a highlight. He's multilingual, speaking English, French, and Arabic, which was pretty impressive. He suggested the 'Turbo Fish' - it was okay, but honestly, not my favorite because of the texture. The Dorade, on the other hand, was fantastic: healthy, pan-crusted, and just delicious.
For dessert, we went with tiramisu and a lemon dish. I didn’t really like the desert as much.
I'd recommend this place if you're into healthy Mediterranean cuisine and looking for something that's not too heavy on carbs. It's not perfect, but it has some really great dishes worth trying.
Overall, the service is not bad, friendly but a bit slow for my liking, but average speed for the average person. Don’t recommend the deserts, but...
Read moreI had a wonderful dinner at L’Abri in Casablanca. The restaurant has a beautiful and modern interior, with warm lighting and elegant decor that create a cozy yet slightly romantic atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a quiet evening as a couple, but it also works well for small groups. The terrace is another highlight, especially in the evening when the temperature is pleasant. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes, all made with fresh ingredients and presented with care. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being too formal. Overall, L’Abri is a stylish but relaxed spot, perfect for a special yet casual night out. I would definitely come back next time I’m...
