We went to Jia with high expectations based on the reviews, but had an unfortunately underwhelming experience, that I hope can be addressed in the future (and bear in mind, considering the overall excellent reviews, we perhaps were only unlucky):
Service was very slow. I can understand it for the steamed dumplings (and they were on point: excellent!). But we spend 1h45 in the restaurant, and waited about 50 min for our first dish. I think there is delivery as well, not sure if it's prioritised over dine-in. There was a total of around 6 tables that night.
The restaurant was uncomfortably warm on that evening. The A/C was supposedly working, but perhaps there is a need to either fix it or invest in an additional unit.
While the noodles were good, we were disappointed by the Kung Pao Chicken. It was very saucy and very different from what we expected it to be (to be clear, we expected it to be Kung Pao Chicken, but it wasn't that, and tasted a bit blend, which is a pity for such a dish)
Overall, I think we were mainly unlucky, and we will give it another try soon (should it be only for the dumplings which were amazing!) Keep up...

The food: To start, we had the “mixed” dumplings 🥟 (essentially a sampler of the assorted homemade dumplings they offer), which was absolutely divine. I personally enjoyed the beef dumpling, but every bite of pan fried dumpling had me craving more.
For dinner, we ordered the beef stir fry noodles, as well as the sweet and sour chicken. The handmade noodles, accompanied by the homemade chili oil was the cherry on top of a perfect meal.
I only wish I had room in my tummy to try other plates, but I will definitely be back next time I’m in Casa!
The atmosphere: It is a cute, cozy restaurant, that has a lot of cute decorations and gives off a playful, pop Chinese vibe.
The service: Although this is the last part of my review, the service at this establishment deserves recognition. The owners are both very sweet individuals, checked on us often, and even personalized their recommendations, such as the suggestion to order the “mixed” dumplings so we could try all of the fillings.
I highly recommend supporting this...
Read moreI took my family there to enjoy some Chinese food as I am a huge fan, only to be disappointed. The place is tiny. No parking space. The food itself was ok but we were served noodles with hair in them! Human hair, not only one or two, but 3!! We called the server who took the plate to the manager. We waited for a feedback but nothing. We decided to leave and before standing here is a cockroach 🪳 walking by our feet! Omg that was the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant 😭. I was ashamed because that was my idea to come here.. We went to the cashier to pay (because the only sever in house never came back to our table after the HAIR incident), and I was even more disgusted by the manager response who just ignored our claim saying that it was impossible that we could find hair in any of their plates. He didn’t even try to apologise and simply made us feel that we were liars. He obviously charged us for the meal that the server took away and that was it! Great experience!...
