Restaurant La Posada del Hafa — Restaurant in arrondissement de Tanger-Medina طنجة المدينة

After visiting the Cafe Hafa on a summer Sunday in the late afternoon, my brother and I decided to try this attractive nearby restaurant on the Marshan in Tangier. We walked inside and decided to sit in the outside garden area with fountain and several palms.

When the waiter brought the menu I ordered some marinated anchovies and a large water (Sidi Ali) while continuing to decide what to have as a main course. Soon he returned to say there were no anchovies. I then decided to skip a salad and ordered a large order of French fries that arrived and which were hot and crispy. Then we both decided to have lasagne. After 20 minutes the lasagne arrived. We had to ask for napkins and salt and ketchup for the fries.

Apparently the chef does not know how to make a lasagne because what was brought to us had no ricotta or mozzarella cheese, and it had very little ground beef but was served very hot on huge platters. But since we were hungry we ate it all, and at 60 dirhams it was not expensive.

A very calm and peaceful place, I couldn't resist the good taste of the Tajine of shrimp... The atmosphere in there is very relaxing and magnificent, a mixture of traditional/modern furniture. The waiter is always smiling and welcoming which makes you feel home. The prices are a bit high. By the way, I couldn't recognize the beauty of this sweet restaurant if I didn't have an ugly experience in the restaurant of Al Hafa... I went here for lunch with my mother. We had a really good time and found a good internet connection. The food was quite tasty but I would not say that it was out of the ordinary. The service was phenomenal, however, the waiter tried his best to accommodate my vegan diet. He made the experience truly memorable. The restaurant itself looks quite nice and is great to take a couple of pictures, food presentation could have been better though.
