In late-January 2024, I had planned to sit outside under the trees at Café Hanafta until I saw an attractive cafe restaurant called Marchan (Marshan) Park.
I glanced at the extensive menu on both sides of the sidewalk entrance, and was intrigued to explore the inside. It is quiet, spacious, and attractively decorated, and I was greeted in English by the polite waiter.
I really just wanted to try a morning coffee, and it promptly arrived and was very good. I told the waiter two sugars and he added it in the coffee instead of putting it on the side. Personally, I prefer to drink from a cup, not a glass. With the coffee you get a courtesy bottle of Sidi Ali mineral water.
I will return to eat food at Marshan Park since I am curious to eat their foods. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners areal, sold.
The low Spanish guitar background music was relaxing and pleasant, and the chairs are comfortable.
Credit and debit cards are accepted.
When I was finished, a young and polite English-speaking waiter asked if I remembered him, and I could not think of where we met. He then told me that he had worked as a waiter at Eric-Kayser, an upscale haunt...
Read moreWorst food we had not only in Tangier but in the entirety of the country!!! Truly led astray by the goood rating. We got the jalepeno cheddar bites that were mushy and barely had any cheese. I’m not sure how you can make fried cheese taste bad but they somehow succeeded. It was more like potato. The chicken supreme which is supposedly one of their signature dishes was bone dry (even with a “sauce”) and had absolutely no flavor. The black mojito was just a fake syrup used and tasted like a slushy and the green detox juice was terrible. They said there was goat cheese in their quatro formaggio pasta but we couldn’t even taste a hint. The overall flavors were completly missing, no spices used and I would skip this place altogether if you have the freedom to do so. Very disappointed this with our last meal in Morocco as the food in this...
Read moreMy friend and I unfortunately had a very bad food poisoning experience at this restaurant last Thursday evening. We shared a salad, a fish (John Dory) and dessert. The food tasted excellent. The fish was stuffed with other seafood and it all tasted good. We do not have any allergies. Within a few hours we were running to the bathroom with terrible diarrhea. I have continued with stomach cramps and diarrhea since and it has ruined the past few days of traveling for us. We didn’t even get a chance to see Tangier. I’m mainly writing this review so the staff and management are aware of this and can implement...
