We spent three nights here for the beginning of a tour of Morocco. This is a new and upscale hotel across the river from the new National Theater Building and downtown Rabat. The large room had two twin beds; a large closet with hangers, drawers, and safe; sitting area with four chairs and table; desk with chair and flat screen TV; and outdoor terrace with two chairs and table. The bed tables were quite small. There were two medium-sized bottles of water which were not replaced each day. (You MUST drink and rinse with bottled water in Morocco.) The bathroom had a separate area with a bidet and toilet; a large glassed-in shower with rain and wand showers; sink with drain that did not close; robes, slippers, two large and two hand towels; and soaps, shampoo, and conditioner. There were plenty of outlets, and wifi was usually acceptable. (Our room was at the end of a long hall and probably some distance from the router or repeater.) We had a simple dinner in their large restaurant. The tour group ate there on our first night of the tour; the swordfish was quite good. Breakfast was a large spread with juices, fruits, salads, eggs (including eggs to order), breads, coffees and teas. Note: the hotels often use self-service coffee machines at breakfast, and the “cappuccino” selection in Morocco contains hot chocolate. To get coffee with milk, make two selections – a short coffee and hot milk. Or order a noss-noss. Maid service was weak, and we had to ask for a second robe and large towel on the second day. When the shower drain backed up over a weekend, our trip leader was able to get repair service very quickly, and the problem was solved. |We emailed the hotel in advance and were able to arrange for a taxi pickup at the Rabat airport at a fixed price in DH and Euros. We highly recommend doing this as we were met by a “greeter” who then took us to the taxi driver. (It seems as though the taxi drivers cannot enter the airport arrivals hall.) We used an airport ATM which issued 100 DH notes. Since the taxi driver claimed not to have the change for the ride, we got the hotel reception to provide us with the necessary bills and did not overpay for the taxi ride. The hotel is on the outskirts of Sale and within walking distance across some busy roads to the tram station, which took us into Rabat for 6DH/PP one-way. We did not use the other amenities of the hotel. Reception was very courteous. We would stay...
Read moreI had the unfortunate experience of staying at Dawliz Rabat Hotel from June 28 to July 4, 2025 (going on), after booking a room for myself and my wife via Booking.com back in March. From the very moment we arrived, the experience was a disaster.||We got to the hotel at around 21:30 after a long journey from Valencia to Madrid and then to Rabat. To our shock, the front desk told us there was no reservation under my name, despite me showing them my confirmation email. We were made to stand in the lobby with no air conditioning in over 30°C heat for nearly an hour while the staff fumbled around calling and checking—completely disorganized and unapologetic.||Eventually, they gave us a room (1229), and things only got worse from there. The AC in the room didn’t work at all, and the room was suffocatingly hot. I immediately informed the reception, and their ridiculous advice was to “leave the AC running and wait.” I waited for hours—nothing. My wife, exhausted from the trip, had to fall asleep in that unbearable heat. At 2:00 AM, they finally decided to move us to a different room (1204), so I had to wake my wife up and move all our belongings in the middle of the night. That level of service is simply unacceptable.||The next day, I asked for an iron THREE TIMES before they finally sent one. I also requested laundry service and asked for two shirts to be ironed and returned the same day for a wedding that evening. No one ever came to pick up the clothes, so I had to carry them down myself, and despite assurances, they never brought the shirts back. I ended up wearing a backup shirt I had.||As if that wasn’t enough, the shower had serious drainage issues—every shower left a pool of water that wouldn’t drain properly. The breakfast was bland and poorly presented, and let me repeat: this is supposedly a 5-star hotel with NO AIR CONDITIONING in the main lobby, which is beyond belief in the summer heat of Rabat.||Dawliz Rabat is disorganized, unprofessional, and absolutely not worthy of its rating or price tag. This was a complete disappointment and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. Do yourself a favor and stay...
Read moreYou cannot convince me this is a 5 star hotel. The property is disheveled and unkempt out front. The lobby looks nice but that's where it stops. I went up to my room and immediately noticed there wasn't a single towel in the place. After over 25 hours of traveling all i wanted was a cool room and a hot shower. I called down for towels and was told some are on the way. 25 minutes later I finally went doen stairs to say something. Again, we'll over 25 hours straight worth of flights and layovers, I desperately needed a shower. When they did bring one, the literally brought one. Singular. Towel. The AC doesn't work AT ALL, it just makes the room harder. The sliding glass door to the balcony? Yeah, doesn't lock. So my room is unsecured. Isn't that great. As you can see in the photos, the shower head was DISGUSTING. I had to take it down and scrape off as much of the gunk as I could just to get it it spray at all. The caulking is cracked, separating and all kinds of messed up all over the bathroom, stains all over the carpet, marks all over the walls. This place looks like an outdated Motel 6 back in the states. And its supposed to be a FIVE STAR HOTEL?!?!. Absolutely not, not even close. OH! Did I mention how L.O.U.D. it is here? ALL DAY AND NIGHT LONG there is banging, drums going, machines running, it consistently sounds like a construction zone all the time. As I'm writing this right now it there is banging coming from the walls. It's exceptionally obnoxious how loud it is here. We ended up finding other accommodations at another hotel but we were charged 200$ cancelation fee when the condition of this hotel is what caused us to leave. So, I wouldn't waste your money here, and if you do prepared to get scammed out of more money for canceling...
