NOQTA SPACE RESTAURANT COWORKING — Restaurant in Essaouira

Whatever I say about Noqta Co-working Co-living space won’t be enough.. Recently, I have been looking for a place to work and connect to people in Essaouira since it’s a very calm and cozy city, luckily Noqta was just opening up by two passionate genuine people (Samad and Dounia) who were working hard to bring their project and dream to life and most importantly with love for the tiniest detail, a Co-working Co-living space in my beloved city, and the first of its kind named Noqta (what a beautiful name that translates into - a point - a name that holds deep meanings in it, one of which could be a point where people assemble or a starting point ..) not only the name that fascinates me, in fact I have spent almost a week and enjoyed every single point, I felt loved and taken care of, Dounia was always cooking amazing food and there was no moment where tea wasn’t present. The space is very clean and eye opening, with lights coming from all over the place, the design is slick and neat. It was the ideal place for me to feel motivated and energetic. And on top of all this, the internet connection is really fast, since they are running a fiber optic router and to be honest, they thought about everything. The space has a terrace with a breath-taking view to the ocean, where anyone could work and enjoy the wind and the sound of beach. The room I stayed in was extremely clean, the bed is pretty comfy, with a bathroom and shower all to myself. waking up I would find Samad and Dounia with lots of energy that is contagious, and of course a cup of tea that fuels me up to kick in the day. I like the concept, but not the execution. I’ve been to other co-working spaces before, and this one was my first real disappointment. If you come alone, you can either choose to sit in a private cubicle or share a table with a stranger. You’re charged by the hour: 15 dirhams for the shared space and, if I remember correctly, 25 for the private one. These prices include no drinks, which I find to be a rip-off by Moroccan standards. In a cyber café, you pay less and get more privacy. Unless this place is not aimed at Moroccans, which could explain it.

The other co-working spaces I’ve been to don’t charge by the hour. You order your drink or food, and after two hours or so, depending on how busy the place is, the waiter brings you the menu again to order something else.

So unless you're a digital nomad or someone traveling and working remotely with a decent income, this is probably not the place for you. If you're a student who needs to study or prepare for long hours, I suggest looking elsewhere. This space just doesn’t...

There is something mystical about the way Essaouira brings people from all walks of life together, and NOQTA is an extension of that. Abdou & Dounia are two of the most humble, kind-hearted, perfectly matched souls I’ve met while here. The space they’ve created and community they’re building truly cannot be put into words. NOQTA is, as warm and inviting, as it is calming. Most days I worked from my room (which btw has the best WiFi in the entire Medina,) the rooftop hammock, and when I felt social, I had the luxury of utilizing the common areas. There isn’t much I can say to define my experience but I encourage you to see for yourself. I was fortunate to be one of their first AirBnb clients during the soft-opening and my gosh, it was an honor!
