The Carlton — Restaurant in Fez

I've had the pleasure of visiting The Carlton, or Le Carlton, and my experience was somewhat mixed due to a change in ownership that brought about some noise-related challenges.

Initially, The Carlton was a lovely place where I thoroughly enjoyed both the coffee and the food. The quality of their offerings, including their coffee, was exceptional. It was the kind of place where you could relax, savor your favorite brew, and relish a delicious meal in a peaceful atmosphere.

However, it appears that a change in ownership took place, and unfortunately, this transition led to an increase in noise levels at the establishment. The peaceful ambiance that I once enjoyed seemed to have been disrupted by this change, which was disappointing.

Despite this setback, I would like to emphasize that the coffee and food remained of high quality. The flavors and presentation continued to impress, and it was clear that the culinary expertise was still intact.

In summary, The Carlton (Le Carlton) was once a delightful destination for coffee and food lovers. While I loved their offerings, I was somewhat disappointed by the increase in noise after a change in ownership. The evening started out fine! We had an oke meal. The service was good! Then it was time to pay. Our sons were sitting at their own table and wanted to pay by themselves. Their bill was 266 dirham. Our son paid with 300 dirham. The waiter gave him 20 dirham in return. We asked were the rest of the change was, It was not about the money but we believe it is our choice how big our tip is not the waiter. The waiter got very upset and told us that our son gave him the tip. This was not the case. He gave us the rest of the change under protest. About 10 minutes later he returned to our table very angry again claiming that our son gave him the tip because he had made an arm movement! He was very intimidating towards my wife. This is absoluut unacceptable and he totally destroyed our evening at the Carlton! Because of this behaviour we decided to tip way below our normal tip-level! We are sorry for his colleagues who...

The servers are very arrogant and throw things around. We ordered two cocktails called "Fragola Citron" , it tasted horrible, like milk mixed with lemon. It's not the first time that they bring out bad orders, it's pretty much a norm at this point. The orders are VERY inconsistent. Some rare days they are extremely good, other days it's extremely bad that it's non-edible, and when you ask why, the servers protest that "it's always been this way". Going there and spending money to relax only to be faced by mediocre food and horrible servers.... it's not worth it. Not when there's other decent...
