Please please please save yourself a lot of money and stress do not go here - you can do so so much better in Fes .
As a former restaurant critic my experience here was terrible- this is absolutely in no way a class act now and bordering on the farcical.
Firstly the service was clueless, haphazard and abysmal unless you are a local or regular in which case you are surrounded by five waiting staff whilst the remainder of guests sit for up to 1/2 hr before even receiving a menu ,let alone drinks . On the night we visited the manager was allegedly unwell so the owner was cluelessly attempting to take orders and help whilst socializing , eating and drinking with regulars - leaving his guests sat with no menus and cutlery for protracted periods of time .
Secondly - though the food was generally passable , if over priced , lacking in flavour and under seasoned a number of unforgivable matters arose.
They do not know how to source or prepare escargot so consequently my partner ended up with a dish of escargot sat on two layers of puff pastry full of large grit - some of which nearly broke a tooth.
When we complained the indifference and ignorance shown was startling - one waiter stated that’s ‘ just how escargot are ‘ and to order something else next time .
Where the grit had been left on the side of the plate to show them he actually got rid of the one evidence and replaced it with sea salt claiming she had mistaken the grit for sea salt which had previously not been there at all .
Comical insulting and farcical - simply unforgivable . Laughable and a complete insult to our intelligence and knowledge .
A replacement was reluctantly ordered but came back even more full of grit than previously at which point we just sent it back . The replacement did not have a garnish of sea salt funnily enough ! Unbelievably - we still got charged for it .
The owner at this stage dragged himself away from his bottle of wine and food and friends in order to shamble over in his trainers and apologise . We had had enough and just wished to leave as quickly as possible - he took the escargot off the bill under duress but did not in any way seem apologetic for the circus of a restaurant he was responsible for ..... we were not even approached as we left and no attempt was made to apologise for the utter mess we’d had to endure .
Mainly passable overpriced food but a truly awful and stressful experience punctuated by clueless , undertrained , disorganised staff and a lacklustre owner who cares more about his mates than his customers . A major case of style over substance . Never more apt was the phrase ‘ you can’t polish a turd’
I read with incredulity the reviews citing how good this restaurant and service is , amongst the best in Morocco and how the owner strives for ‘perfection’ It’s obvious to me that the service has clearly completely gone to pot and the owner has given up giving a damn other than towards his locals .
Please- do yourself a favour and avoid avoid avoid.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The quality of the food was well below standard; the dishes lacked flavor, the ingredients didn’t seem fresh, and even the presentation was messy and unappetizing. We ordered several items hoping to find something enjoyable, but sadly, every dish fell short. The only positive aspect of the experience — and it truly deserves recognition — was the customer service. The staff was extremely polite, respectful, and genuinely helpful. Their professionalism helped ease some of the disappointment, and they absolutely deserve appreciation for their excellent service. Unfortunately, no matter how great the service is, food remains the core of any restaurant experience. If that isn’t up to par, the whole experience suffers. I truly hope the quality of the food improves because the staff deserves to work in a place that reflects their outstanding efforts. I don't...
Read moreWe went here for the proximity to our hotel and were blown away by the food! The best choice seemed to be a 5-course tasting menu for MAD 550 or 3-course for MAD 450, each in either Moroccan or French food. Local Wine from Meknes was also available at a reasonable price per bottle We found the Moroccan food to be traditional choices but reimagined in a lighter and tastier way, from pigeon pastilla to lamb with stuffed dates. The French choices were seafood or beef based, and both were phenomenal! Among us we tried all dessert options and the orange mille-feullie, apple tart, and creme brulee with Sichuan pepper were favorites. The service is incredibly attentive, the restaurant decorated in a modern style yet with comfortable seating. We ended up going 2 nights in a row as food was spectacular (and realized they were packed both nights after 8 pm). This is a place we'd go to...
