A nice laid back spot around Tofo beach market. It’s in a cute little shack, open air and super bohemian in look and feel. They serve either pizzas or hot stone meat/fish bbq. We tried the hot stone with beef and it was a fun experience - the stone comes out hot and you cook your own food on it at your table. You can ask for the hot stone to be replaced when it cools down and loses its sizzle. Next time I’d probably mix it up a bit with fish or seafood as well as the beef. The cocktails were absolutely excellent - caipirinhas made fresh in front of us and with a hell of a kick! Three of those and you’d be well on your way/ already arriving! A fun experience.

Place ist totally overestimated. People friendly, a pizza costs as much as prawns or a steak. I choosed the prawns. They serve 250g small prawns in the shell marinated with half a tomato and some onion rings and a breadroll. You cook the prowns on a hot stone. So the kitchen does nothing except surplying the ingredience. After you did the cooking yourself there is no facility to wash your hands. And you are still hungry. The pizza might be good. But that is all nothing. So why these places are highly recommended as Restaurant? Btw. They expect only cash. What do I have to expect in the other places with less reputation?

The best thing that happened on my first night in Tofo was a walk through the market and spotting an empty seat at Branko's. At the time, I didn't realize what a rare occurrence that was. It is always packed, and for good reason: the food is so good! Their Hot Rock Tuna was my favourite, paired with many Laurentina Preta's and lots of laughs! Katarina and the other ladies were great hosts - they made it really easy to want to go back there every night! If you get there on a busy night, just know that it is worth the wait!

I loved this place. Within a week in Tofo I have been there 4 times. Branko‘s makes unbelievably good pizza in the heart of Mozambique. As a European who has been quite often in Italy, I can assure you, this pizza is certainly a very good pizza - Italian style (not Neapolitan, but classic Italian)

Moreover they offer great hot stone dishes. You can order tuna, prawns, scallops and steak and grill it yourself on a hot stone. This is a cool and fun experience and the quality of the food is excellent.

When you arrive at Brankos it sometimes looks a bit empty and not that inviting, however, I can assure you, the service is super charming and the food excellent. Give it a try. One of my top 3...
