We went to Ponta for a diving course, our resort had poor food so we went offsite to seek something better. We fell in love with Love Cafe, excellent fresh food and a nice variety, hand made fresh pasta, home made chips and home made pizza. Fantastic fresh seafood. The most popular and well run dining establishment in Ponta, a tad more expensive than the other choices however worth it due to quantity of food served, quality and overall service. 2 types of cold beer on tap served in an artistic pre chilled glass. A first class place at a 3 star price. We ended up going 4 of 5 days. Its tidy and clean, the staff are well trained, nicely dressed and eager to please. The owners are there alot keeping an eye on things. From family groups, to business types to a few guys or gals wanting to have a few drinks to a romantic couple, they have it covered. Excellent music and at the right volume. Even live music once a week. Interesting tasteful artistic decor will keep you looking around, it continues and flows from the tables and chairs to the floor, the menu, the majestic tree & lots of various art forms create a soothing fun atmosphere. They know what they are doing here. Lots to pick from on a fairly extensive well thought out menu. For me the Gorgonzola Pasta is to die for, had it 2 times. Calamari dinner excellent. Nice fresh salads. Tons of people order pizza, wished we did however we explored more into the fine dining parts of the menu. If your going to Ponta, do make this your first stop to check them out, you might end up going back every day like we did. We enjoyed meeting the owners and can tell they care greatly about their clients, and staff. Happy fun place to go and enjoy a nice meal or cut loose a bit. Lots of shade and a special room upstairs for any large groups or an event. Thanks for the memories, G n...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this restaurant. On our first night in Ponta do Ouro, we decided to try Love Coffee for a meal, but it turned out to be a regrettable choice. My wife and I ordered the prawns, expecting something special, given Mozambique's reputation for seafood. What we received was a huge disappointment: 12 small prawns (overcooked and dry) with a side of chips and salad for R500.
The price was outrageous for the portion size and quality. After visiting other establishments in the area with far better prices and portions, we couldn’t help but feel ripped off. While the service was decent and not something I can fault, the food was below par and certainly not worth the exorbitant cost.
We understand that times are tough for businesses, but charging Michelin-star prices for mediocre food and small portions is unacceptable. If you’re visiting Ponta do Ouro, I strongly suggest exploring other dining options. There are plenty of places offering better value and quality...
Read moreOn the merit of a Google recommendation, we drove an hour from our lodge to Love Cafe and Deli in Ponta do Ouro, because of the great reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was absolutely excellent. Our server, Alice, had a great sense of humor, and great serving skills! She also kept us up-to-date regarding our order, as the restaurant was very very busy.
Love Cafe and Deli specializes in pizza and seafood. This place is just a great choice for various reasons, including the fact that it's a beautifully decorated stop-in. They open from breakfast to dinner, and it's a great place to people-watch and savor the decor because every nook and cranny has beautiful artwork.
It's situated outside too, so visitors can soak in more of that unique Mozambique atmosphere, and the culture of this amazing...
