Mama Alice gave us a fantastic chicken dinner with a lot of local vegetables together with the well grilled chicken. A small not upscale restaurant on the inner part of the market area. Alice and grandson treated us with warm hearts. This is a must to visit when in Ponta do Ouro.

Mama Alice chicken is a fantastic restaurant, even though it looks a little shady from the outside when you first get there it’s a really good restaurant with wonderful service and tasty food. If you can’t find the restaurant from google maps you can ask a local on the street.

Very authentic local establishment filled with warm and friendly people. They can do customised vegetarian dishes like creamy spinach, mashrd pumpkin, potato salad and is one of the best home cooked meals we had in Mozambique. Mama Alice is a national treasure!
