Sapphire Sands Restaurant — Restaurant in Maputo Province

This place is an absolute hidden gem!!! Please note, to get here DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS, follow the signs. As Google maps was taking us the wrong way, however just as I was about to give up we saw some signs and followed them and was so happy to finally get there. The view and atmosphere is amazing. I love the outside seating with the ocean view and they have a bond fire area where you can relax and meet more tourists, it's really fun. We arrived there around 2pm and as expected the restaurant was quite crowded. There was no electricity so we couldn’t order our first choice dishes, which was quite disappointing. Nevertheless, for starters, we had garlic bread, which had a bit too much garlic that was not crushed for my liking. Moreover, we asked for different combos like calamari and hake fish. The calamari combos were nice but the hake fish combo was poorly served and did not exceed or reach our expectation whatsoever. This place is an absolute gem. The views of the ocean are out of this world and one of the best I have experienced on my travels. The accommodation is rustic but this just adds to the charm. Chalets have little kitchen area and en suite bathroom and are nice and clean. They food and service in the restaurant was amazing with the sound of the waves in the background.
