The Marina — Restaurant in Yangon

The first place in everyone's mind for sumptuous Indian meal. It's a place to take guests as the staff is presentable, and friendly. You will be greeted with a smile upon reaching and leaving also. There are divided rooms for groups and a hall for a big one. There is also an area outside where one can smoke, drink and eat at the same time.

Now, coming to food, it is great with our fav being aloo chutney Wala, crispy corn in Golden basket, paneer Tikka, murgh malai Tikka (to die for), lasooni and amritsari fish (their USP), palak paneer, chicken biryani and murgh makhani.

They can improve upon the outside area. Good music or lively band once a week would make it more interesting.

Price wise, it is expensive. But you wouldn't mind if in group or actually craving for the Indian taste. Every single penny...

I came to this restaurant expecting quality food, service and presentation....needless to say, I was disappointed on all three aspects...the food was bland and simply unimpressive, the service was uninviting and the restaurant is simple without any real ambiance...the only exception was the chicken tikka which had a decent flavour ..the curry which I asked to be extra spicy was tasteless, the naan bread crumbled in my hands and it was downhill from there ..no kulfi...but on the menu... Pathetic experience for 50000 kyat for one person and I was feeling completely ripped off as I left ..the value for price was astoundingly low .never again...

I had my first dining experience during our staff lunch treat. Plus points: wide selection of fair priced food, good quality of ingredients, clean and well lighted dining area, and good ambiance. Points to improve: ventilation (we were fanning ourselves while eating coz the food was spicy with weak AC); service timing (food and drinks could arrive much later than expected, request for extra glass and drinks refill could take some time as well); and air exhaust system (if you have another appointment after your meal, beware coz you could smell like food and spices when...
