Alcove Restaurant , a Sanctuary — Restaurant in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

I visited today with minimal expectations, but one of the staffs truly impressed me with her humble and helpful nature. After being seated for over 10 minutes, I was politely asked to move indoors for a group of people.

Unfortunately, the indoor space didn’t match the ambience I was hoping for, no scenic view and no comfortable seating. Literally I saw sitting in sofa and enjoying view and now suddenly I was shifted with no view and uncomfortable chair.

Especially after choosing this place based on its ambience from online research for New Year Eve.

I requested to cancel my order, but the staff kindly offered me a spot on the terrace instead.

It had a lovely setup with so many empty seating and cozy sofas, just what I was looking for. So, here there is a lack of management. Rather than re locating us in awful sitting place they should have let the guests in terrace. As terrace had so many empty comfortable sofas and perfect view.

I feel there's still room for improvement in overall management and the taste of the Biryani, the food was tasteless, although the portion size was just right. I look forward to seeing positive changes in the future. All...

One of the worst restaurant experiences i have ever experienced. Went to the restaurant at around 8.30 on a weekday, the place was not full. I ordered GRILLED NONVEG PLATTER and chips chilly. 9.30 samma pani kei aaudaina. 9.40 maa complain gardaa was completely ignored by the waiters and had to go to the reception to ask for the food. Tespacchi chicken platter aayo and was SHOOK !!!!!!! Description maa boneless chicken , chicken wings ,sausage, and few more items thyo as it was a platter for 1200rs taraaaaa food aayepacchi there were few pieces of sausage and few pieces of bony chicken. Ma estoooo disappointed bhaye . Asked the waiters for chips chilly and he asked us to cancel the order. Tespacchi haami etttiiii mad bhaisakeoo thyem ki we didnt even talk to any staff , paid and got out kinaki kura gareko bhaye ekdum thulo scene hunthyo. We were so hungry we had to go to thakali to have dinner.

Due to hype of the restaurant, i recently visited here alcove. Extremely disappointed. The management is third-class… maybe because they got the enough customers, they snow the attitude like it doesnt matter whether you come or go…

The place is completely disorganized and lack of basic professionalism too. The waiters were rude and careless, which ruined the my mood n day.

Despite the hype around the place, only 4 or 5 sofas actually offer a decent view. The rest of the seating feels random and worst. The indoor area feels more like a movie theater waiting lounge than a premium restaurant.

If you’re coming just for the view, maybe it’s worth a quick visit. Also may be they will not give you a seats if you are couple, or single or only two or three people on front side sofa with view.
