During my Nepal visit in October, we had the best time with the food, people culture and so on! Not only were the people amazing there, but also each and every restaurant we tried, from small to big, local to international was very good! The food quality, quantity and taste blew us away! In my series on Nepal food, I will review all the places I have tried food from. For any details, feel free to comment/DM me, I would be super happy to help!
I did a little bit of research on which restaurants are pretty and aesthetic in Kathmandu for dates as I was travelling with my husband, I found this restaurant in the top 10 and am glad we have visited here. I also found out, that on Saturday, they hold a Farmer’s Market where they help small businesses set up booths and sell their items. Starting from food to ornaments to clothing, a variety of stores were there.
Items we had, Chia Seed Bowl 725NPR Eggs Benedict with trout fish 1990NPR Smashed Avocado & Prawn 1550NPR Mimosa 930NPR Bloody Mary 950NPR Fresh Juice: Carrot and beetroot
2 organic poached eggs with multigrain organic bread topped with hollandaise sauce, and the base was trout fish, comes with a side salad. We were blown away with the eggs benedict and the trout fish was so good! Chia seed bowl is coconut infused and served with seasonal fruits. Our one was garnished with nuts, watermelon, apple, dragonfruit, pineapple, papaya etc. Very healthy option! Poached prawns and smashed avocado served on top of butter-toasted multigrain bread, comes with a salad side. This was fab! Highly recommended, light taste of avocado with prawn - perfect combo! All of the drinks were refreshing, but the Bloody Mary was a little spicy and tangy!
The place is upscale and modern. You will love the ambience for sure! The servers were very friendly too!

Read moreIt was such great experience visiting Le Sherpa restaurant. It was my first time there and i am in love with the place. The ambiance is beautiful and so is the environment. Calm, peace and lovely weather with little dripping rain made my experience even better. I agree the menu pricing is a little bit too much but its all worth it with the service, taste of food and ambiance.
Talking about staffs they were very vigilant and caring. I was welcomed with a warm greeting (namaste) at the counter and i could see him smile though he had his mask on. He then offered me sanitizer and asked me the number of people joining. I was alone obviously so i chose small table. The guy pulled me a chair then offered me a sit. I was presented with menu immediately. I was amazed with how prepared he was. Then he told me he will be back with bottle of water and left. Later another staff came and served me water and he told me he will be my waiter. I asked to change the table to bigger one and the waiter assisted with my glass of water and transfered me. I was already in awe with service and rest of the experience was even better.
Food was up-to the price i paid for. The richness in risotto and perfect combination of flavors in prawn is still unforgettable to my mouth.
I spent nearly an hour there and could see all staffs working so hard and equally doing their best. I could see the shortage of staffs clearly but with all that also they were very cheerfull and caring.
I will definitely come back for more. Ps: 1 star is for high...

Disclaimer: I am critically reviewing this restaurant under the pretense of "fine" dining and not by regular restaurant standards.
Firstly the issues that I have with the physical restaurant itself. Small cramped, small uncomfortable wooden chairs that don't give "fine dining experience". The interior of the restaurant is no better, outdoor chairs being used for indoor seating with very minimal atmosphere. The toilets aren't very clean for what one would consider a "fine dining" restaurant, most regular restaurants and cafes have cleaner ones.
The staff: the staff are probably the only reason this review isn't a 1 star. But still not good enough to bolster the rating to a three. The staff still treat customers based on ethnicity rather than equal standing. I saw obvious favoritism to foreign patrons compared to local ones. I don't fault the staff for this but the poor training that was provided.
Atmosphere: the attempt at atmosphere and creating an outdoor experience is
On to the food itself: for a "fine dining" experience, the food is terrible. There is no round about way to say that this isn't fine dining whatsoever. The food is mediocre at best, something one can order for a MUCH cheaper price at a local steakhouse or cafe. The cooking sadly even misses it's mark when it comes to execution and taste. I...
