Initial thoughts: I had been wanting to go to Soul cafe for a long time and I wish I went SOONER because this place was soooo good for Korean cuisine!🤩 I went with my friends.

Food & Ambience: We ordered Peace Ice Tea, the famous RosĂŠ Rappoki, Pork Kimbap and the chocolate cake and wow the food slaps. The service was equally fast!

• Peach Ice Tea: I prefer sweet drinks. The cold drink was really rejuvenating and had a slight candy-like aftertaste. It was not too sweet and I would recommend this to anyone wanting a cold punch to their meal👍 • Rosé Rappoki: Hands down the most unique Rappoki dish I have ever had. It's slightly sweet, and comes in a huge pot! The addition of cream and milk made the broth so creamy and smooth. The taste of cheese was not overpowering and coated the rice cakes and the small rice balls nicely. The texture of the rice cakes were soft and chewy🥰. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED 🙌 • Pork Kimbap: It had a nice amount of filling and the pickled radish does add a good kick to every bite. I could taste the brush of sesame oil too • Chocolate Cake: It comes in a cute square ceramic with cute spoons. The taste of chocolate isn't bitter and the cake was moist and coated my tongue with chocolate nicely, definitely recommended dessert!👍

About the ambience, it's very homely and I loved that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. (Although I did feel the indoor seating felt a bit cramped, just my opinion). The natural light does help make the experience better with the cold breeze. You're welcomed with a fine variety of cakes right after entering which really caught my eye. The restrooms were also cleaned which is a plus point from me with all necessities.

Having said that, I can say Soul cafe definitely deserves the hype it has. Really nice place for relaxing, casual dates. You do get parking, but only availability for two wheelers. Having said that, I'm giving this place a solid 4/5⭐ because there's always room for...

After one year away, I recently enjoyed dining at Soul Cafe Lazimpat. As soon as I walked in, the ambiance started to add value to the overall dining experience. Whether you’re dining indoors or outdoors, the trendy yet cozy atmosphere, soft lighting, and elegant decor take you away from the hustling and bustling city chaos.

After placing Orders, We were served Banchan, an assortment of Korean bite appetizers. Loved everything they served.

For Starters, the Pork Gimbap at Soul exceeded my expectations. The Pork was a little chewy but well seasoned, crunch of fresh vegetables & seaweed wrap added depth to each bite.

For the main course, I ordered a comforting Pork Kimchi-jjigae. The bubbling hot stew was a perfect balance of spice and tanginess, filled with tender pieces of pork, well-fermented kimchi & vegetables.

I washed it down with two pints of Nepali draught beers as a proper Korean Dining Tradition.

Kudos to Either the Owner or the Manager. I can’t say enough good things about the service at this restaurant. The staff (Pranisha) was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations which is rarely to be expected in Nepal. Keep up the Good Work.

My first anniversary of coming back to this place was well spent. Will be back.

Recommendations The meat on gimpap to be improved. Less sweetness in the kimchi broth, and a little bit more meat and vegetables. Banchan, more...

I used to love Soul Cafe with my whole heart, the food, the ambiance, everything. It was one of my favorite spots in the city. But it’s really disheartening to see how things have changed. The dishes I loved, like the dak bokkeum and tteokbokki, just don’t taste the same anymore. I had already noticed the drop in quality a few visits ago but still gave it another chance, hoping it was just a bad day. Sadly, today confirmed otherwise. The kimchi tasted flat. I had been craving bibim guksu for so long and finally went to have it, only to find it completely bland. No salt, no spice just disappointing. What adds to the letdown is the service now. The front staff/barista idk always looks so disinterested and cold. Noticed her a few times there, she never seems interested nor welcoming and Today too . We don’t expect over the top cheeriness, but a simple smile or warm attitude would make such a difference. It’s upsetting when a place you’ve supported for so long no longer feels welcoming. I truly loved this place and have been a loyal customer for so long, but today left me genuinely heartbroken. It hurts to say this, but I’m never...

Looks better than it tastes :(( I have tried both dine-in and take-away. Dine in experience was ok, the cafe itself is aesthetic and clean, the food however was comparatively less flavorful than other korean restaurants in Kathmandu. As for the drinks, the iced milk tea just tasted like water with crushed ice; they were very nice about it though, they listened to the complaint and decided not to bill me for it. I had hoped that this was a one-time mistake, however several months pass... and food was still disappointing. For the second attempt, we ordered take-away (cheese tteokpokki, veg kimbap, kimchi jigae and a chicken dish) all were completely bland; it didn’t taste like there was any seasoning at all, not even the kimchi side dishes! There was no soul in the food, despite how good it looked :( Tl;dr: There seems to be a lack of consistency (and flavor?) in their food, but the service is good. Aesthetic but not as authentic tasting as other korean restaurants in town. Hope they train the chef better and work on improving the food. (Parking is available but big cars will have some trouble getting in and out.)
