I was craving Chinese food and decided to try Xithang Hotel and Chinese Cuisines at Jhamsikhel. I sat outside, which had a lot of greenery, and even spotted a cat wandering around. As soon as I arrived, they served me a complimentary tea. I started with their famous oil noodles and then noticed the stuffed buns on the menu. I couldn’t resist ordering one pork and one chicken to see how they compare. I’ve tried frozen version of stuffed buns, but never from a proper Chinese place, so this was a first for me—and I have to say, they were great. The chili oil looked intimidatingly spicy, but I found it to be quite mild. Both the stuffed buns and the oil noodles were a bit under-salted, but overall, they were still very tasty. No complaints from me. This was my first visit, and it definitely won’t be my last. The pork buns were priced at Rs. 80 each, while the oil noodles were Rs. 500. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’ll definitely be back. PS: a staff also asked for feedback as I was waiting for my bill and seemed...
Read moreUsed to be my go to Chinese in Lalitpur, but seriously gone downhill.
Outside there was rats and the seating area stunk of rat piss. Also, indoors service was bad. The waitresses were rude, portions were bad there was more capsicum and chili’s than meat.
For one dish we ordered a crispy fried chicken gizzard, the plate had literally no gizzard on and not even fried. We complained to the waitress and said the menu it said fried and she denied saying “that’s just how we do it”. And was rude and not welcoming.
The dishes have changed compared to what they used to be, disappointed and disappointed dirty place.
Such a shame such a hidden gem, has become like this. Not sure if it’s cause of their new second outlet or what but definitely not what it used to be.
Xithang won’t be our regular Chinese anymore.
Don’t bother going unless you want bad service, food and a smelly surrounding...
Read moreUsed to be the go to place for chinese, but after my last visit the day before, felt off about this place. More than the food, the waitresses were too immature and irresponsible, they simply lack the basic etiquette on how to serve. Had to ask multiple times for refills, mukh fulaera etro paryo when we mentioned our refills didnt arrive. And when they finally did bring it, they placed it in the other table without even acknowledging and promptly just leaving. The pettiness was absurd. They need better staff to do their food justice. These petty waitresses who seemed to be in their teens are...
