The beer is over priced. Draft beer is clearly the from MIA brewery which is $4 for a six pack at Carrefour. Why pay $8+++ a beer when you can pay $.66 per can. The staff says its local, its not. If you want good local beer try Pelican or SXM. Food is ok. I wouldn't call it the best burger...Rusty and even Dutch Blonde are better for far cheaper than Dinghy Dock. Over priced and full of it. There are other places to get actually local craft beer and other places to get burgers. This place is not a dive bar its just dirty. You can be outdoors without cockroaches and gross bathrooms. Absolutely not worth the hype. I keep trying to like this place but it's nothing but misleading advertisement and subpar quality.
**Edit: Thanks for your reply Mr. Boss. It's good to know that you have been in your filthy establishment. So I am assuming you have seen your peeling bar paint, peeling floors and generally unkept spaces as well as all of the roaches. That's not dive bar, that's dirty. Yacht Club at least looks clean and it's completely outdoors. If you would like a better burger try anywhere that actually cooks theirs to order instead of giving you an either undercooked or overcooked piece of meat on a bun. Your kitchen and staff lack consistency. If you're going for the funny but rude vibe then you should at least have a good product to back it up with. Nearly every order I've had from your kitchen if it's busy is either still frozen (mac bites app) or not cooked to the specified temperature. Your beer is overpriced because I'm assuming you don't actually have a distribution contract and you buy retail--this is clear because Carrefour as mentioned before is cheaper than you. Just because I objectively think your place is horrid and have offered better alternatives so that others won't have to be...
Read moreWe use to love this bar over the last 3 years but a lot changed. The bartenders were selective on who they wanted to be friendly too, the nachos were not nachos and they charge $8 for Angry Orchard beers. All of this would have been forgivable we were just trying to unwind and have a good time but when they gave us a bill they added gratuity for a few beers and nachos. When we asked why they pointed to the small print on their menus that stated the food was 5% discounted if you pay cash and they “may” elect to charge 15% gratuity” I will let you all figure out all that is wrong with this but will say First they miscalculated the gratuity so they were actually charging almost 20% and second if your going to add a gratuity in your customers for nachos and beers at least provide good service. Gratuity is optional based on the service you receive. We are generous tippers but being forced to tip, overcharging on the tip and feeling like everyone else was more important than us makes you not want to ever...
Read moreCocktails were great but the rest was horrendous. All the food we ordered was way too salty, the meat, the fries and even the salad. It was impossible to finish. When we pointed to the waitress/barmaid the problem, she proposed nothing to replace our food nor apologized for the discomfort.
Paying the bill was a hassle: we were a group of 10 and impossible to split the bill according to her: it had to be all cash or all credit card ! She didn't come up with a solution until we tried for 10min to see how we could solve this mess.
I have never seen such poor, overpriced service and such bad food in a Simpson Bay restaurant/bar. Go spend your time and money elsewhere...
