Gunnery's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Alkmaar

I visited this pub for lunch with my in-laws visiting from Germany and had an unfortunate experience. We ordered the stout burger, chicken wings, and a bowl of chips. After waiting for nearly an hour, the food finally arrived, except for the stout burger, which was the main reason I chose this place.

When I informed the waitress, who was nice, I overheard the manager (possibly the owner) saying they needed to prioritize other orders before mine. The pub wasn't particularly busy, so I can't imagine how they would handle a full house. Initially, the service was good, but this incident made the experience uncomfortable.

Gunnery’s has been the place to meet when me and my friends go out every week. We’ve always had a good time there, the staff is always very friendly and helpful even when the pub is full.

The big but comes here… while enjoying a football match, and having already spent more than a couple hundred, the owner (Sharon) came to our table and very rudely told us to buy something or to leave. She must have not seen that I still had half of my beer and that my friends were deciding on what to do next. However, she didn’t seem to care and repeated, buy drinks or leave. She did the same to table next to us.

That was very rude from her. You don’t shout to your clients like that. I personally felt very uncomfortable.

My girlfriend and I had a beer and some snacks at this place. As we finished our drinks we were asked to consume more and even less than 5 minutes later the waitress insisted again, telling us: “Either you order or you leave.” We were quite confused as she was friendly before and we considering having dinner there.
