De Buren never fails! We have been here on multiple occasions and have always been happy. There are multiple seating choices-outside underneath the roof, in front of the restaurant, on the terrace or indoors. Although it is a lot the staff is really organised and you never have to wait too long. They have a great memory even if you decide to change where you sit. When going on a Saturday I recommend booking in advance as the locals know this is the place to be! The staff is attentive, we were being asked throughout dinner if we needed anything. They spoke English, noticed a missing napkin after our starter almost immediately and explained the specials to us. Do not miss this and go for lunch on the terrace when the sun is out! ☀️After dark, the cosy ambience indoors makes you feel really relaxed. Cozy and recommended. Located on a cute corner in the city centre, the atmosphere inside this restaurant is Dutch-style 'gezellig'. Service is good and so is the food. Fig carpaccio is a nice starter, salmon skewer was great and this is one of the few places where I can really recommend the spare ribs. Limoncello tiramisu was delicious. The beer selection is not exotic, but there is no need for that with Affligem on tap. Wine selection is limited (but I did not feel limited with the available choices). Ontzettend lekker gegeten met super vriendelijk personeel.

Zonder problemen mochten we van tafeltje wisselen zodat we iets prettiger konden zitten. De mensen die er werkten reageerden hier super vriendelijk en behulpzaam op. Een klein foutje waardoor 1 van ons perongeluk een ander gerecht kreeg. Gelukkig had ik in no-time het juiste gerecht waardoor we toch tegelijk konden eten. Als compensatie kregen we een bijgerechtje van het huis. Had niet gehoeven, maar was een heel fijn detail wat optelt bij de goede service. Ondanks de ruime keuze in veganistische gerechten was er allergenen informatie beschikbaar voor melk en lactose, en werd alles alsnog dubbel gecheckt. Het eten was heel heel erg lekker. Ik heb zelden een vegan burger gegeten die zoveel smaak had! Het was goed warm, ruim belegd en de smaak was echt ontzettend goed! De seizoensgroenten en spareribs zijn beiden ook echte aanraders! Lekker gekruid, vlees wat nog net niet van het bot waait zo mals. :)

Iets wat ik ook nog specifiek wil benoemen is de portie grootte. Het was precies goed. Geen torenhoge, grote burger, maar ook niet een burgertje van een paar hapjes. Ook de spareribs portie was precies goed.

De bediening was echt erg vriendelijk en vrolijk. Wij komen zeker terug, en raden zeker aan hierheen te gaan!

5 sterren voor het eten en de sfeer. 4 voor een klein foutje, maar kan gebeuren. (4.5, maar dat is helaas niet mogelijk op google)
